I suppose you mean 2008 Libertadores. The winner of Pachuca-Chivas gets to participate without going through Interliga, but since Pachuca won the Clausura 2007 and must participate in the CCC, Chivas qualify to Libertadores without having to beat Pachuca. At least, that's my understanding.

wow. good to hear. so either way, something big is going to happen to chivas at the end of the season. either the delatorre's get fired (not winning the title) or they lose quite a bit of money by not going to libertadores... (vergara hates losing money)

mosco-

chivas will go to libertadores 2008, unless they win Apertura 2007. If they win apertura, they have to go to CCC (like this past spring).

Schedules are not in place yet.

so this is pretty much going to be the same chivas team that was eliminated in the sudamericana right?

hard to see them doing exceptionally well. although, maybe having the same team will mean they will have more cohesion and what not. only time will tell

I think they will have more cohesion. Sudamericana was still early in Efrain Flores' era, and they got stronger as the season went on. I think this time around they will do pretty well. Bofo use to do really well in this tourney :(

PS, is there a live feed to the sorteo?

I didn't see one on Conmebol, but mediotiempo is slowly updating. Last I saw, first phase has Mexico 3 vs Bolivia 3.

Chivas in a group with Santos, San Jose (Bol) and Colombia 2.

The Mexico 3-Bolivia 3 winner gets Boca, Colo Colo, and UA Maracaibo. Mexico 2 gets River, Chile 2, and U San Martin.

What are the possible teams from Colombia to fill that spot? Colombian teams have tended to be pretty even with Mexican teams in these competitions, so with Santos in there this looks like a tough group for Chivas.

good luck to the team that gets group 3, if the come out of that group on top, they have a good chance of going all the way;)

It's going to be Monarcas, and they will be first place in their group, and Boca second.. one can dream right? ;)

If its club America that makes it in that last slot in group 3 I think Boca and Colo-Colo will have something else to think about
