Damn, I'm not amused ... but please take care of him, Mirka! ;)

It surprised the hell out of me.

Any thoughts on the new manager? I was rather surprised Labbadia was chosen.

Rated by many as one of Germany's top up and coming coaches. He had Greuther Fuerth playing over their heads (in my opinion) most of this season but as they usually do, they fell apart at the end.

Much like Skibbe at Bayer this season.

I'm shocked. I was certain Bayer would hire ex-Schalke coach Mirko Slomka.

I think they went with the right guy in the end.

Maybe Mirko can take over at Fuerth now. :D

We'll see. I like to think so too, but I have my reservations.

It was certainly a bold choice and one I applaud Bayer for. This recycling of coaches in the 1st Bundesliga needs to stop.

Nah. When asked if he would consider taking over BVB when it was apparent Doll would be out, Slomka said something about not seeing himself doing that because he still considered himself a "Schalker" and he'd been teaching his young son "Blue and White Forever." He said, "What am I supposed to do, tell him I was wrong and now it is Black and Yellow forever?"

So, I guess Slomka has to find another Blue and White team for the sake of his kid! LOL!!

Wait. Fuerth has a blue "away" uniform, don't they? ;)

Slomka in Fuerth would be interesting, but I don't think he'll take a 2. Liga job as long as Schalke is paying him.

Or did Schalke buy him out?

I was telling "Borussia" that maybe Fuerth can get his second favorite coach now.

Thomas Doll.

But my guess is that they want to at least go back to finishing fifth and not fifteenth! LOL!!! :D

i´m not happy with this solution...i wish another coach....looks like borussia sent us their coach:).....Fürth invades Leverkusen:)....

i was all the last week away...i was in Bavaria, Munich and in the Pfalz. ..I was schocked after the last Bundesliga game, we missed UEFA place and it made me sad. We were so good at the beginning of the season and we had really big chance in the last BL game to use all our chances. But we did not win. This last horrible game. Well we played horrible in last 5 or 6 games.

and now we get a choach from Fürth....schocked...

borrussia..is that your fault?

I wish we had Klinsi..but Klinsi is in my Munich...hm.....

i´m pretty schocked...

You might be pleasantly surprised. I said I have my reservations, but that's only because Labbadia has no BL experience.

Labbadia is a damned good coach. I think he did very well with what he had to work with in Fuerth.

I would usually get upset, but I realize with you, this has nothing to do with football......

I was referring to your Klinsmann obsession. ;)

I think Bayer made a mistake, but I also think Labbadia is a good choice.

I know Labbadia is a pretty damned good coach, but so was Skibbe.

Then please send him back to Fürth (I'm not happy either)! :-)

Unfortunately it's too late now...

I fear it's Rudi's fault.

I think she knows nothing about him except he isn't "handsome" enough for her.

I fear it's Rudi's fault.

I don't. Rudi said in "kicker" that if he had his way, Skibbe would still be coach. I think the board made this decision.

you are right this new Bayer coach is not simply handsome enough for me...he has no charisma.....he looks ugly:)....

yes Rudi and Skibbe had good relationship and are friends....they often met each other and had a nice time with good beer...

it was board decision.....management decided this...

well I will see how will be everything going...

if no, I will send this new coach back to Fürth...:)

Well, Klinsi must be very ugly then! :p

Of course it was the board's decision to fire his friend M. Skibbe ... but I think it was Rudi Völler who wanted Labbadia instead of Slomka as replacement!

Well to be fair Uwe, the media and most of the rest of us ASSUMED Slomka would be the number one candidate.

Suppose Labbadia was the Bayer board's favorite all along? ;)

i have heard that the number one candidate was actually the Mainz coach Klopp..
he was the ideal candidate...Leverkusen also had talks with Klopp...and offered him about 600.000 Euro more money...at the day when Klopp agreed to sign the contract with
Dortmund, Leverkusen called him at his cellphone..Klopp thinks that he can reach more
with Dortmund than with Leverkusen...He also wanted to have one Leverkusen player
Manuel Friedrich..however, Leverkusen rejected this....so Klopp was the secret number
one candidate..

i wish we could have Klopp....he looks at least very nice...he is not Klinsi, but has similar
positive charisma..

now Dortmund have him!!!...you lucky guys:)

Actually blt, I think someone has been feeding you Leverkusen fans full of shit.

Klopp said publicly that Leverkusen wasn't interested in him. Only then did I know BVB would get him.

And that is what tells me that maybe Labbadia was Bayer's choice all along.

And that thing about Klopp wanting Friedrich is nothing but fan bullshit. No call was ever made. BVB's main defensive target is still Marko Basa of UC Le Mans (France). Klopp knew that before he signed.

Now, if BVB can't get Basa, I wouldn't be surprised if they call about Friedrich, but nothing like that has happened yet.

And Klopp surely wasn't Bayer's first choice or they would have had him!
