Hamburg has done extremely well in the UEFA Cup so far this season as well.
I don't know whether to be happy about this or to be ashamed that these teams aren't competeing at the highest level.

Oh great :> A Bayer 04 thread. I've been looking for a place to find more english-speaking Leverkusen fans.
And yep, great to see that they made it to the last 32 for the UEFA Cup.
(Brian the Lion is such a cute mascot, ha ha)
Yeah, I think i'm the only Leverkusen fan in Toronto as well.
I 've liked them since the final vs. Real Madrid, and now even moreso as my favorite player Arturo Vidal has moved there

Galasataray - Leverkusen 0:0
Bayer can be very pleased with the 0:0 draw. Looking at chances Galasataray should have won this one with 2-3 goals but they were very ineffective in front of goal. They had some embarrassing wasted opportunities that looked like certain goals but somehow they screwed it up. Adler was outstanding today and Man of the match IMO. Vidal also had a good match being all over the field constantly, especially on the defensive end.
The Leverkusen offense was terrible today. Kiessling tried, Schneider was invisible and tired, Barbarez didn't do much either. Barnetta also tried and had some limited success.
Haggui should soon make his return cause Callsen-Bracker made some big mistakes today that fortunately didn't lead to goals. He played a decent match when ignoring the big mistakes, but against teams with sharper strikers you're not going to be that lucky.
The pitch was awful in Istanbul and it snowed in the 1st half, but hopefully Bayer can win at home in the returning leg!

yes I think Leverkusen can be happy with the result..
for me was Adler the man of the game too
as you right said Schneider was rather invisible....it was even not the "old" Schneider....
but Bayer is confident to win home:)
BTW: good luck for Bayern Munich today!

RENE ADLER will be probably playing today
in UEFA GAME:
The injury to René Adler is not as bad as first feared. The keeper ‘only’ suffered a groin strain in last Saturday’s game in Karlsuhe. Head coach Michael Skibbe assumes that Adler will be in goal for the UEFA Cup second leg tie with Galatasaray on Thursday
