I'm so jealous. I'm definately going next year. My brother goes every year.
He said the RHCP and Matisyahu were great last year.

Nice - If my wife wasn't still in town this weekend, I might have driven over for the weekend or caught a quick plane ride.

I just picked up tickets to see Ryan Adams Oct 2nd in KC - hope he plays a mix of Acoustic and Electric.

i will be there, but i'm going late

Yo La Tango

the My Morning Jacket, TV on the Radio, and Pearl Jam!

MMJ and Pearl Jam are on the same stage, and TV on the Radio is at the other stage on that field, so i'll just have to turn around to see them. got to get my spot for Pearl Jam early!

Pearl Jam rocked the house

could've gone without the political stuff, but they rocked the house nonetheless

alrighty, so Lolla was awesome.

I'm pissed that I waited this long to go, considering it took me like 20 minutes to get there each day. The weather on friday was brutal. sunny, hot, and humid. got a little sun burnt. Saturday was better, cloudy and about 15 degrees cooler. So it was a good recovery day. Sunday was back to being hot and sunny, but since I didn't arrive until 5ish, it was ok.

Friday: The Fratellis rocked it. great way to start the day. I was pleasantly surprised by Ted Leo and the Pharmasicts, never heard of them before. Polyphonic Spree was great, wish I could've heard the "Lithium" encore but I had to go watch my friend's brother's band. LCD Soundsystem were a perfect warm up for Daft Punk, who then proceeded to turn the main stage into the largest dance party in Chicago. there are tons of clips on youtube of the performance.

Saturday - I'm From Barcelona. so much fun, everyone was smiling when they left that set. Tapes n Tapes were good, they got kinda wayward in the middle, but ended strong. Sam Roberts Band was loud as heck and packed. I liked it. I wish the Cold War Kids were on a bigger stage because it was the most packed small stage of the weekend. you couldn't move from about the stage to 30 yards away because of all the people. Spoon were great, just kinda chilled and listened to them and got kinda close for Muse who really know how to play to a big audience.

Sunday - Yo La Tango was first off. they were good, their jams kinda wandered, but they played some good tunes. My Morning Jacket played with the Chicago Youth Symphony. They were good and I just kinda sat near the back to scope out a spot for Pearl Jam. TV on the Radio were good as well, listened to them while I moved even closer for Pearl Jam. then when Pearl Jam hit the stage everything was taken to a new level. It was awesome. The crowd singing on Alive and Betterman was fantastic and I was even THAT close to the stage. The encore was "Rocking in the Free World" with Ben Harper, after they played some acoustic protest song with an Iraqi veteran on stage. They scraped Black, Baba O'Reilly, and another song because of time contraints.
