He does want, since quite some time. The question is whether he would be able to. I don't see him as a good coach, because he seems to be an "extremist" in all aspects of life. If things wouldn't go his way, then he'd probably give up with "fracaso". A good coach should have patience and restraint imho.

Add to the fact that he has never coached a club either, so he should start from there.

Hopefully Maradona will stay away from the NT in terms of coaching. He's a good inspiration and it was and is great to have him as a fellow Argentinian. However, I just don't think that he has enough brain cells left to talk with any sense, much less coach a National Team, much less to coach our Argentina National Team.

The day Maradona becomes our NT coach is the day we turn into Uruguay. He would be a horrible coach, and he proved that with two disastrous spells in club teams, Racing and I think Excursionistas or some other small team like that. Maradona needs to learn to shut the f*** up

It could work if he works with a team of coaches who can build a proper team with the talent we have. So Maradona as manager with other coaches *cough*Gabriel Calderon *cough* as assistants or technical directors could work.

Maradona is better off being an motivational speaker for the team. Honestly, that's all he's good for now. Keep himself healthy, heal his mind and then maybe in 10 years he'll be able to mature enough to play a serious role in AFA.

Come on! Maradona can't even coach his own dick! Agree with Illrod, he could be at best a motivational speaker, although I'd rather have his feats and achievements shown to the players.

Have we forgotten that he was the main culprit of the Mandiyu's demise? It was where it all started and Mandiyu are now playing in the 5th division...Mandiyu!##"#!!?? He couldn't even coach Mandiyu!!!!!!! :D

I dont even want him as a motivational speaker . He did great things for us as a player, ( excluding the painfull expulsion in 1994 ). Let us remember the player, as a coach no, speaker no, cheerleader in the stands Im OK with that. What we need is an Oscar Ruggeri or Simoene to talk these guys up give them some balls before every match. We have great players, a great team really what we lack is confidence, a coach that can instill this confidence and have several working tactics and be able to switch to them without being a stubborn arse. Then we need a player on the pitch with the attitude and guts to motivate the team and play with example . We are to pretty for our own good at times the senior team could really take a lesson from the Under 20's.
