Tournaments Germantown Invitational (Memphis, Tenn.)

Anyone know what the Germantown Invitational tournament (Memphis Tenn) is like now. Last time I was there was about 6 years ago or so. Just thinking about this fall/winter.

GIT is still a great tournament. u15 -u19 boys is on Dec 1/2. At least 4 or 5 FIFA's are always there with many MLS/nationals there as well.

We must have been there at the same time. Good tournament. The flipping coin we got is heavy enough to act as a paperweight.

Probably, I was coming in from AR. I enjoyed doing the tournament. The fields were some of the best I have been on. It's been a while but I would like to get back to the tournament, may not happen this year, but next would be great. I don't understand tournaments that hand out 5 pound coins to flip, pennies have two sides also.

I've always heard good things about the GIT. I was kinda hoping my kids' teams would be going this fall, but it looks like club management is pushing for the entire club to do the Lexington Invitational instead.

FYI the last two years I have been to Mike Rose Soccer Complex for the TN D1 State Tournament, and last Dec to the GIT. The field have been very poor each of those 3 trips. Dead spots everywhere, excess sand on wet spots, not good at all.

The competition was good, and the referees to work with even better. :D

I'm sorry to hear about the conditions of the fields. where international teams there the past 2 years. When I was there were always 3-4 teams from south america or Canada?

Last Fall, there were a few international teams. There was a team from Columbia?? and 2 teams from Mexico.

Greg Barkley was there and did a presentation on Friday evening regarding his experiences at the World Cup.

I was there for the girl's weekend. Great experience, lots of fun. Good organization to deal with.
