Fürth with 3 home games without any win, 1860 with 7 matches without victory ... so which team's crisis will end in the Bavarian Derby on Friday?

They will draw to extend the misery of both clubs: Sechzig's annual Rueckrunde slump and Fuerth's annual we-just-can't-finish-in-the-top-three-ever crisis.

I can believe that. I'm so PO'd with both clubs right now that I'm not even going to watch.

What I do is listen to the 1860Live feed and watch the LoewenTV replay. The announcers on LoewenTV are dry and the guys who do the 1860Live replay are like watching the EPL on Fox when the fans call the game. MUCH more entertaining!!!! You really get some funny stuff and a true fan's perspective of the match.

LoewenTV for the spring is ~US$18 and is a great feed. Worth every penny.

If I were an 1860 fan, I'd do it - but heck, I might do it anyway ;)

Well, I wouldn't be surprised.

Fact is that Fürth needs a win in order to keep the promotion dream alive (despite missing a few important players in this game)...

Mate G. definitely out for the rest of the season. If I undersood the kicker article below correctly, it looks like they found some infected tissue in his knee and will have to operate again.

I don't like the sound of that. It's too much like the stuff that ended Matthias Sammer's career.......

I am hoping for a 1-2 win but am realistic that it might end in a 1-1 or 0-0 draw. There is a part of me that thinks this might be another 3-1 loss for us given how far our head are up our arses.

Damn, that part of you was right! ;)

Deserved defeat for your guys, since Fürth was the clearly better team from the start and could easily have scored 7-8 goals (as usual, they wasted plenties of opportunities once again).

It was funny to see how the Löwen fans taunted Stefan Reisinger before the game ... and got his "answer" then. :-)

Btw: Fürth made the mistake to send almost all Südkurve tickets to Munich instead of selling them to the home fans ... so there was only a 10,500 Derby attendance this time, since max. 1,500 Löwen supporters made the trip to Fürth (the Südkurve was almost empty cause no Fürth fan was allowed to order a ticket for the 5-8 section).

They didn't sell them from the ticket booths the day of the match??

Just for the left part of block 9. No tickets for the rest, since there had been just 500 Löwen fans scattered among the 6-8 section. Nearby there was almost no demand from Fürth side, since surely many fans stayed at home in their believe that the Südkurve was sold out.

Tja, dumm gelaufen...

Well, yes and no.

Fuerth had the better run of play in the first 20 but their first goal was offsides. Second, the first offense by Thorandt was not bookable IMHO. It was his first challenge of the match and he got booked? He played (and won the ball). The ref was poorly positioned to see the challenge. If those two calls go for 1860 then it is a different game.

Tactical mistakes:

Putting Torben against the speed on the Fuerth left. He got burned the whole first half.
Bierofka on the right instead of left.
Not playing the speed demons like Johnson and Wolff to run Fuerth down.
Putting in Szukala....he cannot be anywhere near match fit.
Tschauner is showing why he will not be #1 for long....just aweful. Shit, even Berhalter was yelling at him.Reisinger: The pecker plays 25 games for us and he cannot even find the net once. The standing joke was that if he was on a raft in the Isar and fell out he could not hit water. Well, nothing like a motivated never-was.

Overall: Marking was shiite. Baumgartlinger and Danny Schwarz had a tough time marking on recovery.

Achenbach: Impressed. I would not mind picking him up if that was an average game from him.

Löwen players Alexander Eberlein (U20), Lars and Sven Bender as well as Timo Gebhart and Florian Jungwirth (all U19) have been called up by the Deutschen Fußball Bund for upcoming international matches. Baumgartlinger (19) has been told by the Austrian FA that if he can secure first team action he will be on the senior roster for the EM this summer.

Of course, with zero wins and only 35 points since the beginning of the spring season, 1860 are looking to secure 40 pts and avoid talk of relegation.

Hmmmmm....I remember a few emails in November saying that things looked pretty bleak. I hate being right all the time.....I really do.

Dude, don't rub it in. They better wake up soon, the drop zone keeps crawling closer.

Is it just me or does Tschauner look worse and worse each matchday?

How's about my man Andreas Rössl getting a shot soon...

Reality setting in. They will pull it together...barely.

Keith called that one....he is really aweful. He pulls the odd save out his arse here and there, but his positioning is very, very bad. Hoffmann is FAR better. You know, keeping Hoffmann around sounded stupid at first....I mean, why keep him around if you have two future star keepers. Reason: Tschauner has not convinced mgmt HE is the answer.

He is in the rear-view and moving up fast.

I think they'll finish mid-table.

Dude, he hasn't changed from the time he failed at FCN. They thought he was going to be their keeper of the future too.

He (Roessl) is in the rear-view and moving up fast.

That will be something to watch....

That's wrong. It was "gleiche Höhe".
