Garry, I think you are giving up on promotion dreams too quickly.
No one in the 2. Liga is playing great football right now. No one is pulling away from 1860 or shows any signs of it.
If they can take three points from Aachen this Sunday, I think they are still in the thick of things.......

Correction: Hoffenheim is playing great football. Hopefully BvB derailed that train.
I don't think 1860 can get promoted this year, but with a good run, and some investments next season - that would be my plan.

Sorry 1860 fans, but I needed to respond to his bullshit.
Ha ha.
I'm still of the opinion that losing at home as German champion to the 2nd league bottom team, is a "Blamage"! It would have been a "Überraschung" if they lost the game away in Jena...
So far about this "off topic" discussion.
He is out 6 weeks with a rupture of the left ankle ligaments.
That is a huge weakening for your team, since Bierofka is probably your most important player!
Hopefully he'll get well soon.

That was the most shameful French act since the Vichey Government endorsement of a certain German Regime in 1940.
Oh no, not Godwin. I was enjoying this thread.
And I have to tell you, after hanging out in the BM thread for the match. I don't ever want to go back. Arschleckers.
And how about Tschauner?! I was so hoping for him to become the PK hero.

Little rand note:
Bayern doesn't deserve their club name this season.
They have only 4 players from the federal state Bayern (Bavaria)
in their squad, while 1860 has 12 players from Bayern.
;)
P.S.: But to be fair, all 4 (Schweini, Lahm, Lell, Ottl) are from Munich,
so they don't need to take Munich out of their club name.

You need to listen to your mother more often. I am certain she told you as a young lad not to hang around with drug dealers, pimps, whores, ManUre and Bayern fans, no?

Did you see the look in his eyes? Look in the DFB Pokal thread for the video. He looks anything BUT confident before the PK. He even looks relieved that it went in after Floppery took it. I would like to think Hoffmann would had done better but who knows. Its 50/50 on those things but Hoffmann might have gamed it up a bit. Tschauner looked like he was paying homage to him. Homage to him? You're drunk....now let's go to the stonning.:D

Really? I thought we were trying to hook you up with some pbp/streaming and having a nice discussion during the game. Interesting.

Some of you were. I believe I repped you for the link and I repped the guy doing the play by play. Notice that you mention "during the game". During the game was fine. It was after that things turned sour, and I'll admit it was partially my fault. I didn't neg rep anyone, eventually I just left. It gets emotional, you know?

Note:
Many players not playing their usual positions.
Many players are not first choic players due to injury.
Avg age of starters 24.5 yrs old...Berhalter, Hofmann and Schwarz really skew the sampling.
Avg age of bench 22.01 yrs old.
Lehmann and Krontiris are former Loewen.
Stuckman is only his 3 game in the nets this season in the new-look Aachen formation.
Back 4 for Aachen are their normal players, Polenz is a converted midfielder like Thorandt is for 60...what is it with RBs?
Krontiris is converted to midfielder from attack.
Ebbers and Kolev with 7 goals between them in 17 games.
Of the 1860 players on the starting line up there are only 12 goals among them with Berhalter as the leading scorer on the field. Here's hoping youth wins out.

I see why HSV let Kucukovic go.
I'm no big fan of Antonio di Salvo, but MAN, WHEN IS HE COMING BACK??!!
Remember guys, the dream isn't over yet. No one is pulling away from 1860.
1860 are still just four points away from the second and third placed teams. If 1860 can get some guys back soon, I think they are right back in the thick of things.
Hey, I haven't seen anyone point out Bierofka's performance on that bad ankle. I saw on DSF how he allowed them to heavily tape his ankle and he went out and played on it.
He got kicked on it in the second half and had to come out. DSF showed them cutting the tape off his ankle.
That guy should not be playing. But his club needed him and he stepped up.
That was courageous.......
Of course, I mean "courageous" in a football perspective.

That is why I haven't gone back into the Bayern forums yet. I need to calm down and not be in there saying inflammatory shit.
I can say it here, but also know that most of the Bayern guys who read it, know me and know where I'm coming from.
I didn't read any stuff in there yet because I knew I'd be too tempted to respond in a bad way.
I know I will eventually go back there because no one on the German boards discusses football better than those guys.
I'm not mad at them right now, I'm mad at their club.
But, I have to admit for very selfish reasons, I will be rooting for Bayern in their Cup semi-final against Wolfsburg.
Why??
If Dortmund can stop the Cup juggernaut that is CZ Jena, a Cup Final against Bayern would put us in the UEFA Cup next season.
I hate that it went down over 1860 like it did, but I have to be selfish now......

Scarier is that Kurz did not use his last sub and take him out. He next to nothing up front. Wolff's speed would have create more up front than the plodding feet of Herr Kochewkovich. I mean really.
Di Salvo is weeks from coming back. Goektan is more a possibility than him.
Bierofka is one tough dude. That ankle looked like the outside of an avacado. He has some healing to do.
Holebas finally had a good game. Normally he only plays well as a Joker. Yesterday he was a nice spark.
Gregg is suspended (again) for his 5th yellow of the season.
Gebhardt, while talented, is not Goektan.
Benders played well. Thorandt is the new Bierholder....just too dangerous to be left home alone.
Tschauner only test once but came off is line well.
Milchraum now wishing he never left Muenchen since he is a bench warmer for a team 1860 dominated yesterday. Was whistled soundly often.

He thought he'd be warming the bench in the 1. Liga!
Nicky Adler even gets to play at FCN from time to time and shows he can play in the 1. Liga.
LOL!! :D

Kucukovic reminds me of another Joshua Kennedy, a towering striker who does really nothing. Although, atm the Aussie surprises me with his form. Hopefully Mustafa can replicate him.

Kennedy just seems to "fit" in with KSC. Kucukovic never seems to work very hard to me. I think he's simply out there because there is no one else.
I'm with LoewenBoy when I say I don't see why Kurz doesn't try Wolff. At least you know you'll get a better effort.
Kucukovic isn't scoring and doesn't look like he ever will. Give the Ami a shot!!!

There are other players, but with all the injuries the other, more talented players than Kucukovic are all playing behind him. Wolff and Schaeffler are the only ones not playing. Hell, I'd rather see Pagenburg playing in Holebas' spot and let Jose play for Kucukovic. He just has not impressed at all. He has a quick temper, frequently offsides, lazy work ethic on the field. not strong in the air, lacks ideas an next-to-zero instince infront of the net. Lovely attributes for a single striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation to have, huh?
9 Antonio Di Salvo (INJURED)
10 Berkant Göktan (INJURED)
11 Joshua Wolff (BENCH)
13 Chhunly Pagenburg (PLAYING)
14 José Holebas (PLAYING)
21 Markus Schroth (INJURED)
34 Manuel Schäffler (BENCH)
