hi-
i thought i would post something here and see if anybody can help me out...
recently (the last few days) i have not been able to access any geocities sites (not even geocities.com itself) instead..i get forwarded to this 'white pages: search engine and directory' page...
i've tried various different geocities sites at various times and such and still cannot reach my destination...does anybody know why this is happening to me?
any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

I just tried a geocities page and I didn't have any problems.
Not sure why you can't access geocities....

Can you reach yahoo.com?
My guess is that your local nameservers are somehow broken. It happens, sometimes, that certain parts of the internet are temporarily unreachable from other areas, when both areas are reachable from a third area. If that made any sense.
Keep trying, and it'll probably eventually come back. You may want to contact your ISP for specific help - they may be aware of the problem, or it could be a network configuration error on your machine.

yes, i can reach yahoo.com and other sites etc. it only happens on this (my personal) computer as the other computer in the house (which is on the same network etc.) has no problem in accessing geocities as i tried earlier.

That's good information.
I would start by checking to see if your network DNS settings are the same on each box. (Look under DNS settings in TCP/IP.) If they are different, copy the settings from the working computer.
You also may want to clear all temporary internet files from the malfunctioning computer.
What OS are you using? What are the network connection details? DHCP? DSL? Dialup?

You support the Canadian Women's national team. DNS is the least of your problems.
I can't access Geocities pages either.
