I seem to remember some thread a while back about DVDs sold by the club store. The discussion centered around region compatability. Does anyone here in the States have the 2002-03 (or earlier) season reviews on DVD, and if so, do you have multi-region players, or regular ones?

I had a long talk with Arsenal about this last year. While the DVD was region free, I believe it was released in PAL format. I'm not entirely sure what that means for people with NTSC televisions.

I have some new software on my computer that should make most of this moot, so I'll probably try to get it this year and see how it goes.

I did find this in my archives from last year...

Dear Arsenal Supporter,

What an incredible season we have just witnessed!!!

We just wanted to inform you about the forthcoming Arsenal official End of Season Video and DVD, which will enable you to relive this season over and
over again.

The Video is being released on around 3rd June (subject to change), priced at £15.99. However, SportOnline is currently pre-selling it at £13.99, with
FREE P&P for all UK orders (that's cheaper than Amazon). Please note, the video is in PAL VHS format only, and therefore if you have an NTSC television system (as in North America), or other TV system, then you will need multi-standard equipment to view this video.

The DVD (Region 0) is being released on around 10th June (again subject to change). This is a special double DVD, containing not only this season's highlights, but the second disc also has all the action from the equally
famous 1997/1998 season, when Arsenal last achieved the Double. This double DVD is priced at £24.99. However, SportOnline is currently pre-selling it at
£21.99, with FREE P&P for all UK orders (again, that's cheaper than Amazon).

I'll remove you from the SportOnline mailing list.

They can't make up there mind on what to do. They are all PAL DVD's but some are region 0 (01/02 review) others are region 2 (Victories over Man U, 02/03 Review).

I have a CyberHome CH-DVD-500, it comes set region 1 but its nothing to change to region free. It plays NTSC/PAL and will output NTSC or PAL, your choice. Its also progressive scan (but that sucks for PAL DVDs and makes them look like crap when there is a lot of motion like in football.) It was only $50 at Best Buy. I can recomened this one for anyone who buys lots of PAL videos but live in North America. I am not saying give up your main DVD player but for watching PALs while living in a NTSC country this is well worth the $50.

I have the 2002 Season Review which included the 1998 Double Season as well - I watched it on my computer (I have a DVD-ROM) - the quality isn't spectacular but it's still better than video IMO.

I haven't tried the disc on an all region player though (I should)
