Seems to be little interest in this match, but its Lyon's first chance of the season for some hardware. Should be interesting.it always draws a good crowd at gerland, we're always hungry to see our team for the first official match of the season.
would have been nice to see it played in china (especially sice we can't go this year ;) ).
btw, OL has already picked up a trophy this year, the Peace Cup!

i'm getting this off olweb so can't see how those four in the MF are arrayed, i'm only guessing... curious not to see hatem starting.
anyway, at 6' a toulalan FK finds cris's head and it goes just inches over the bar! :)

Oh i forgot about the peace cup, and the [R]. Thanks Guignol ;)
Anyway Baros scores off a brillant header but the ref says no goal.
Contraversy!!!

36' Baros screws up a golden scoring op. right at the 6 all he has to do is tap it in, and he misses.

28' - baros heads it off the bar... it bounces behind the line (clear to see in real time and confirmed by video), but as everyone knows, OL gets all the breaks from the referees , so NO GOAL .
possession OL 60% - sochaux 40%

38' - baros misses the unmissable! a sweet cross from keita goes right through reichert but baros can't get his legs untangled.
OL stepping up the pace and really dominating now.

great game. lots of movement and attacking play by both teams. i was actually able to catch this one live since i stumbled into a french bistro that had TV5 on behind the bar. :)
Grosso got on the field for the first time today and he looks promising.
Perrin is having a nice run so far...

Poor Baros. I've never seen a striker who's had so many goals denied in such a short amount of time. It even happened to him during the Peace Cup.
On OLWEB it says that Govou was on the left?
How did the players do?

well, had to dash off to the library with the kids, there was a raffle for the last potter tome... won by a two year old!
unfair! winning would have saved me like $25, but when that tyke's old enough to read it his folks will be able to pick it up at a garage sale for 50¢ :p
anyway, i caught all the scoring and OL wins!

I was able to catch the game on a stream. english commentary too, so i didnt have to suffer through the mandarin broadcasters. All in all a real good showing from lyon. It was definately an open game, but Lyon really closed down Sochaux's attack in the second half. Benzema is looking good, as is Baros, who is unlucky not to have had a hattrick in that game. If fred could come back some time before the turn of the decade i would honestly say we dont have a problem up front. Keita was real lively on the flank the whole time he played. He will work some magic for les gones this year, i can feel it.
