Why is La Liga "for sure better" than the Premiership?
People say France because at the moment, the level is considerably higher than most other leagues.

Why, well I can only answer for my self. But I rank PSG, Lorient, Nice etc. as better teams than Excelsior, Willem II, Heracles or Naval 1º Maio, Académica Coimbra, Vitória Setúbal. But ofcourse if you only rank top teams even the Scottish league would be pretty strong..

I'd say England shades it because of the depth of the league structure, compared to say, Spains Second Division, which has reserve teams in it. Those would free-fall through Englands Football League, judging by the Castilla games I saw, possibly fall out of League Two. That is pretty much why when Rafa Benitez and Mourinho suggested EPL reserves in the football leagues they were simply laughed at.
Italy may be higher but Italian football is the laughing stock of Europe apart from AC and Inter. Man Utd v Roma and all the match-fixing and the friendly nature of the fans have ruined it.
Germany and France are pretty close too. Outside Lyon, Marseille and perhaps the European qualifiers from France, it is a feeder league.

I diddent say I know, I just rank the teams that lower on the table in France higher than teams lower on the table in Portugal and Netherland.
PSG was a bottom team in France last year but they did anyway pretty well in the uEFA-cup. Reaching 1/8 finals. Same could be said about Nancy (13th last year) went easy trough Group play. In netherland there is only 3-4 that hold a very good europeen level imo. Twente went out against Estonian Lavedia Tallin in the qualify rounds, Herenveen finished last in their UEFA Cup group. These team ended 4 and 5th in the Dutch league. Much same in Portugese 3-4 teams that may do well in europen cups. Teams like Vitória Setúbal (14 last year) Nacional Madeira (8. last year) went out 1.round before the group play.
If you lock on the domnestic tables there is hugh gap between the top teams and the next best teams in Netherland and Portugal. While in France the only hugh gap is between Lyon and the rest, otherwise every team can almost beat eachother.
yes.. I know this was not very well written.. But anyway thats mainly why I think the Franch league overall is a bit better than the Dutch and Potugese league. But if you only locking at the top teams the quality difference is very little. But you are ofcourse free to feel otherwise.

La Liga
EPL
(Gap)
Serie A
...
(huge gap)
...
Bundesliga
Ligue 1
La Liga and the EPL are very close. La Liga is overall more balanced than the EPL, this year the EPL was better at the top. It would be reasonable to switch the two, but right now I still have La Liga on top (the great ending of last season probably has something to do with it).
After the top 3, the Bundesliga leads the rest of the pack; Ligue 1 just edges the Portuguese Liga and the Eredivisie for 5th place.

La Liga definately has more depth than any other league, followed by England and Italy. France/Germany was a toughie, but I placed France higher because their league has more depth in the lower half than Bundesliga.

okay I respect your view, I don't agree, but if we all think the same the world would be boring.
And I saw somebody place Scotland league relatively high, than I think are you crazy???

In terms of quality I guess Spain and Italy will battle for the first spot with England just below it.
Personally I like France best because it is a very unpredictable league. Before Lyon started its reign it was 10 seasons without a team that could renew its chamionship crown. Sometimes a team won the league and struggled against relegation the next season (eg Nantes and Monaco). Now Lyon is dominant but everything below that top spot is still a very open battle with often teams that surprise. This makes France my favourite league in Europe, although there is a difference between best leagues and personal preferences in leagues. I mean, because of my love for Rosenborg I rate the Norwegian league amongst the most interesting ones in Europe but I will not claim it is one of the best ones.
English league is top when it comes to quality but I personally find the Premiership totally uninteresting. Because the same 4 teams qualify for the CL every season and get richer and richer, the top-4 is very predictable apart from the order of those 4 teams. Also, the EPL is the sort of league without a single stadium that has a bit of authenticity, with exceptions being Everton and maybe Villa Park. I reckon that England is one of the best leagues in terms of quality, but personally I don't find that league anything interesting so I very rarely watch games from the EPL. English football for me begins to get interesting below the premiership but the EPL is a boring league IMO, despite the quality of play.
