Newspapers say 3 million €, but it´s performance based.
So it´s not so easy to say.

20 year old Bosnian Saed Huseinovic joins Werder for a transfer fee of 500000€. All the big balkan clubs were after him as well but we got him. He's a very talented attacking midfielder. He's already been capped for the bosnian national team but is the captain of their U21 national team as well. He's our third signing after Prödl and Andersen.

Did too last evening, really great weather out there. :)

Regard Huseinovic, haven´t heard of him before,
so i can´t rate him.

Huseinovic is supposed to be one of the biggest talents of the balkan region. As a bosnian he wouldn't be allowed to play for the U23 according to the current rules. That's pretty dumb in my opinion.

On the first press conference of the season Schaaf said that he believes that Sebastian Boenisch and Aaron Hunt will become national players this season if they stay injury-free.

I don't get to see all of Werder's games here in the US, but I am so ready for the Bundeliga to get going. My 15 year old son was born in Garmisch and all I heard last year was Bayern, Bayern, Bayern. I should have made my Ex take the train to Bremen just before the birth!!!!

Reserve player Philipp Bargfrede (19), who joined the first team at its season preparation, extended his contract until 2011.

Dennis Diekmeier, Fritz-Walter gold medal winner (price for U19 talents),
will join training of the first team this season.

CAS (international sports court) decided, that clubs don´t have to send
players (also ones younger than 23) to Olympia.

Werder will make a statement about the Diego and Tosic case
after they will have spoken with Schalke (Rafinha case).

Blatter (FIFA boss) statement:
"I am surprised about the decision and dissapointed,
that the CAS didn´t consider things like the Olympic idea."

Well J.B., seems like FIFA didn´t make their job. :p

P.S.:
I am excited about Werders and Schalkes reaction,
because i don´t think it´s clever to take the players back
from their national clubs.

And the club won't take them back. The normal decision was taken: let them play for the NT but impose some things to the national associations like insuring the players.

... and paying their salary during Olympia.

The CBF has simply ignored Werders and Schalkes demands (injury-insurance and salary contribution for Diego and Rafinha) which could lead to Belgium appealing against the match vs. Brazil because both players didn't have the clubs approval to play (which would be necessary according to the CAS decision).

FIFA has ensured the clubs that their demands will be met but we all know that Blatter is a corrupt amateur who will say anything to ensure the flow of the money the IOC (also corrupt amateurs some of them even criminals btw) pays him to choose their side.

The CBF on the other hand I'm not sure whether they are too stupid or too arrogant to realize that they are jeopardizing their olympic campaign.

He can choose the side he wants, but i don´t even think FIFA is so stupid to be passive again. They can be sure, that one of the clubs ´ll bring
the case a second time to court.

btw:
I think, that it is a very fair call from Werder.
We don´t want Brasil to pay his salary (which would be legal),
but only, that our player is insuranced on his "holidays" in Beijing.

yes he can but he's been so pationate about it and even ranting against the CAS that I firmly believe there's money involved for him.

but i don´t even think FIFA is so stupid to be passive again.

maybe but you shouldn't underestimate their stupidity.

We don´t want Brasil to pay his salary (which would be legal),

this hasn't been clarified as far as I know. Allofs only said that it's not a "top priority" which could still mean that Werder demands some sort of compensation.

Is Özil injured or anything?

He seems not to have played in the Cup, I thought Diego playing in the Olympics would provide a great opportunity for him.

He had the flu. He would have played if he was fit, and will play in the friendly against Esbjerg (Denmark) tonight.

Good. Extended playing time for Werder during Diego's absence would be a nice "excuse" to cap him for Germany's senior team early.
