Just wondering what is the view of the new look city from other supporters ?

The team is so much better than last year it isn't funny. Added on to the fact we have a decent manager, i think we could quite possibly finish anywhere from 8-5.

I've a mate who's Citeh and he's cancelled his season ticket. Says everyone in their block has.

Let's face it, if you're an archetypal Citeh fan, these are dark times indeed.

Maybe a month ago.

But with the additions of Sven + Bianchi + Petrov + Geovanni & Fernandes, And the rumours of Nery Castillo & Chiellini coming to COMS, I think we will be a lot better than last year.

That wouldn't be hard.

No, I don't think you're quite getting me.

I take it your coming from the point of the typical supporter, Which is not the image City is portraying as of now. (I had to read your post again. Completely missed the second line)

Probably right. But as i live in Aus, I never have actually looked at it from that angle.

City fans don't want shady foreign owners, suave foreign managers and hired guns from the big leagues. For Citeh, "flash" equals Malcolm Allison and Rodney Marsh, not "Trousers" Eriksson and lots of players whose names end in vowels.

Give them a decent cup run now and then, the odd derby victory and a couple of players who sweat a lot and they're happy as pigs in shit. Anything beyond that is way out of their comfort zone.

And if you think I'm doing them a disservice, or being patronising about them, then you're wrong. They're a breed apart City fans. And there's much to be admired there.

Matt, I'll take your word for it.

I'm 17, Never been to Manchester, & only seen the odd game on TV. Your knowledge of our fans would be infintely more than mine.

Well there's something to look forward to you when you make it over here sometime: a couple of pints with the City boys and you'll get a whole new perspective on life.

Might be a bit soul-crushing for a 17-year old, mind. ;)

Matt you might want to tell advise some type of kevlar vest as well.

Although it could be worse, Marc could be paying a visit to the City of Culture- Liverpool

what a load of horse manure

city fans haven't been happy for ages, indeed their fans organised protest campaigns last term, campaigns which have halted since the takeover.

put your stereotypes to one side and get out of the dark ages

city fans want their club to compete for the big prizes.

Oh no, the lame troll disagrees with me. *Sob*

You may chalk this down as yet another subject on which you have more opinions than knowledge, kiddo.

I'll withhold forming an opinion until Liam Gallagher speaks on this.

Having lived in Manchester for over 4 years and with many a Citeh friend, I can confirm that Matt is right (must be the name, us Matts are just so wise).

City hate being rubbish, but they'd hate being at the top even more. They're the Lib Dems of English football. Even the Alan Partridge, if you will.

Precisely. The only time they act like normal fans is when the red of Manchester United is in front of them. The rest of the time, fatalism is like a warm, fuzzy security blanket to them. The ones I know are most worried now about attracting some sort of "glam" label because of their shiny new manager and his shiny new signings. Citeh fans have little of value to cling on to, but one thing they have always had is that they don't have the hordes of plastics that their neighbours have - that really means something to them. "Who'd support us if they didn't have to? We're shite."

Protest campaigns?

When? I didnt miss a single game last season and I never heard or saw any protest campaigns, apart from a few old bints after we got knocked out of the cup at Blackburn screaming abuse at the manager and players for a lacklustre performance.

That doesn't equal a protest, let alone a campaign.

I think Manchester City have did a total 180 since the start of the summer. In early June they didn't have a manager and had already lost Joey Barton. The future looked bleak. Then Erikson came along. A little bit of hope and it has just been getting better and better for City. The signings Sven has made have been very impressive. I think City could suprise some people and finish around the top 10. It seems like everyday they are improving and I look forward to seeing them vs West Ham next Saturday. I've only seen highlights of the pre-season fixtures and from my view they have looked impressive. I wish Mancester City the best and I can't wait to see what they do in the Barclays Premier League this season.

Don't worry, you're addressing a hapless troll, his opinion is irrelevant to the actual debate.

You realise that big bold letters are the internet equivalent of the angry green pen, right?

You realise that big bold letters are the internet equivalent of the angry green pen, right?I know exactly what you mean, but it's perhaps unfortunate that your name appears in big, bold and green letters.
