Ives has an interesting story that could have significant implications for New York. He reports that Red Bull is buying out AEG's half share of Red Bull Park. It sounds like there were simply differences of opinion. Red Bull wants this to look like a European stadium. The roof stays, the stage goes and Red Bull will have total control. In all, Red Bull is sticking another $50 million in to get this control.

But Ives suggests that AEG isn't giving up on the New York area. He notes that "AEG is rumored to be in on the ground floor of Mets owner Fred Wilpon's plans for a New York expansion team and potential stadium in New York."

Interesting indeed.

That is awesome. I'm excited for RSL to get a stadium and even think it will be beautiful, but the whole stage thing and only a semi-roof is kind of a bummer. Good job RBNY on making it their club and doing things right.
