both peruchos started in braga's friendly defeat.
comments about Baylon's play:
BAYLON
EMPENHADO

I was on site yesterday to watch the match. It was an awful game. We played with our least valuable players - except for Rodriguez who was playing his first match this pre-season. It is probably the final chance for some players to win a definite chance to stay with the squad for the rest of the season. Two or three are getting out on a loan - we don´t know yet who are they...
As I've said, we played really badly and there weren't may guys palying a decent match. Rodriguez did his job with no problems (the opponents weren't very good either) - but he tends to risk a bit too much at times due to overconfidence. He lacks a bit of concentration at times and that is a point he should improve.
As to Jair Baylón, it was the first time I have watched him play. I don't think he is able to secure a first team place yet. You can tell there is potencial (he is very strong when confronting the defender), but he lacks a bit of mobility and aerial ability. He made two runs that were really dangerous but that was all in about 50 minutes. I think he will stay in the squad but I reckon he will not be first choice for the time being...

you reckon Rodriguez has a guranteed first team place?
For Baylon, yes its unlikely he will be a first teamer just yet, Braga has good strikers.

Rodriguez will no doubt be a first team player. He is our best defender, in my point of view. He will play alongside squad skipper Paulo Jorge.
He's only played on Saturday with other less rated players because he's been out during almost all pre-season (due to his presence in Copa America) and
he needs to get some rhythm...

Jairzinho Baylon set to start -
O regresso de João Tomás e a contratação do peruano Jair Baylón, que juntos podem valer mais de 40 golos, tornaram o ataque um dos sectores mais fortes da equipa e, por esse motivo, o processo de escolha do terceiro artilheiro tem sido tão lento como meticuloso. the return of J Tomas and the signing of peruvian J.Baylon who together can be worth more than 40 goals, will both be in attack, for that reason the process of selecting the third striker has been slow and careful.
Rumoured first to Benfica, the striker recently left "U" because of an overseas offer, and was said to be very near Braga by the peruvian media, when braga was still in Germany, however, everything were just rumours.

SC Braga have sold RightBack Luis Filipe but they have a promising new Rightback named Joao Pereira (Ex Benfica and Gil Vinciente).
So far I must say that Alberto Rodriquez is doing great and Braga have rejected bids from FC Porto, Fulham, Chelsea, and some La Liga club and they don't plan on selling him until next year at the earliest.
The coach who was a once CL Winner/Captain of Porto was a defender so he has alot of confidence in Alberto.
I can honestly see them doing great in the UEFA Cup and the Liga so in my opinon the team is solid.

Alineaciones:
SP.Braga:
Dani, João Pereira, Paulo Jorge, Rodriguez, César Peixoto; Frechaut,
Vandinho, João Pinto; Hussain, João Tomás e Wender.

Rodriguez played a terrific match last saturday against Porto. What a classy player he is!!!! It was a pretty even match. Quaresma was key for Porto scoring twice from free kicks (though our keeper should have done better in the first one, the second one was tremendous). Our central defenders had a lot of work to do and they did a great job. But I have to say, Rodriguez is special. Everything he does is with great ease and class. At the moment most observers reckon he is one of the best defenders in our league and he has enough quality to play in any of our top teams...
As to Jair Baylón, I think Braga will try to find a club where he could play some first team football. We have just bought a new (austrian) international striker from Boavista, Roland Linz, who was one of last season's top scorer and is more experienced than Jair (he is almost 26). I think it would be best for Jair a loan in order for him to play and keep progressing rather than staying with the squad and rarely being given a chance to play... Anyway, nothin official yet. I shall keep you informed...

Thanks for the good info. Nice to hear that Rodriguez is playing so well. As for Jair, I think it would benefit everyone if he was loaned out.
