He was born in 1989, and he currently plays for Danubio F.C in Uruguay. His position is defensive mid. One of my cousin's friends knows him, so I'll tell him to visit this thread.

I don't really know.. A cousin of mine gave me his hi5 address. I sent him a message about this thread, and hopefully he can come and tell us how he's doing in Danubio personally. ;)

By the way, Condor, I think you should change the spelling of his name in the list of peruvian players playing abroad.

Hey guys, guess what. I got to chat with this dude, and he tells me that Piero Salas (el otro pata que estaba en el Danubio) and him just got transferred to NACIONAL DE MONTEVIDEO, the biggest club in Uruguay after Peñarol. I told him to enter this thread, so he'll tell you himself.

He came from la U's canteras no?

Funny little story:

There's this Peruvian lady in Houston that makes awesome ass alfajores and chocotejas. In either late 2006 or late 2005 she came to my dad's store one day to drop off some alfajores we'd ordered.

When she saw the U banderin we have she asked "Son de la U? Mi hermano juega en los juveniles. Creo que ya esta por debutar" I asked his name and remember that the last name was Funes. I kept looking out for him in the U's roster but never saw him so I figured he just sucked.

But this has to be him cuz that lady is a big ol' negra in her late 20s, early 30s. The weird thing? Her boyfriend is this 70-something white guy. They go everywhere together, he limps along and she's all "c'mon baby." It's the craziest thing.

But her alfajores are the best I've ever tasted, anywhere.

Yeah, you're right Dominican. He told me his mom and his sister live here in Houston.

By the way, where did you get those alfajores?? or how can you contact her?? I haven't had those in years!!!!!

Well, I reside in Houston. There's no peruvians around. About a month ago there was a Chilean festival (the host was one of my mom's friend), and there was a whole lot of Cau Cau, Ceviche, ALFAJORES, and all Peruvian stuff, but the Chileans ate it all. I didn't get to have Alfajores.

What was funny, the festival was a fund raiser for Chilean schools, and there where Chileans flags all over, but it was all Musica Criolla, Negroide, Marinera, Huaynito.

Food was all Peruvian, except for the chilean empanadas:D .

Anyways... Dominican, how do I get ahold of that Funez girl who does Alfajores??

There's actually a good number of Peruvians around in Houston. Much much more than Chileans.

You know Uribe right? He's the dude that brings stuff from Peru and has his little office on Hilcroft and Bellaire. I know she used to sell him his alfajores.

If not I guess you can just ask the guy to give you his sister's email or phone number. She's really nice and polite and I think does this for a living so she'll be happy to get new business.

If you do end up getting a hold of her let me know cuz I got some friends (non Peruvian) that are dying to get some good alfajores.

Dominican.. he just gave me his sis's #. I'll send you a message with it.

Hey, guys, and guess what, I made a little mistake. He's from 1988 (mi promo!), and he plays central defender. He says that Piero Salas is defensive mid.

I just showed him how to register for Big Soccer, so he'll be writing in here soon....
