Summerfield has to see the writing on the wall... that they are going to bring in Mariner.... will he be there to support Luggy, or just wait in the wings for Luggy "to accept a position in the front office" or to be the "scout of the Scottish Leagues"...
either way, Mariner, i bet, will be at Argyle..
Blackpool today.... Argyle vs Ollie.... i think its AT Blackpool though

i think this is it... i think youre looking at the next manager of Plymouth Argyle... either Luggy will get fired, or he will resign... but Mariner will lead Argyle the first of the year.

He was an integral part of the Revs. Every year it was expected that some MLS team would bring him in as their head coach. The Revs' loss is Plymouth's gain.

On behalf of the Plymouth Argyle board, I am pleased to announce that we hope to confirm soon the appointment of Paul Mariner as Head Coach, working for the manager, Paul Sturrock," said Sir Roy.
http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1829503,00.html
He will be in Bristol monday night to meet the team, before their next game on tuesday and will officially be introduced on friday, before saturday's game against Ipswich, which is where Mariner went to from Plymouth and became a International star for England.

Interesting... i think u will see Luggy spend less and less time with the 1st team... and Mariner doing more of the coaching during the games...
He is Mariner's chance to be a head coach/Manager... i bet by season's end Luggy will be "promoted" upstairs... or will be a scout "back in his native Scotland"...
Hope Mariner can turn it around...

Well Mariner's introduction to Argyle was to watch 2 losses, his first was Argyle reserves lost 3-2 to Swindon in the afternoon, then he saw 4 goals in 6 mins, unfortunately 3 of them were by Bristol C.
Also rumours abound that John Blackley resigned after the game, he was the defensive coach.
Another rumour is that Mariner was signed to be the #2 at Argyle, with the #1 coming in shortly, maybe after their season finished, someone that PM is used to being the #1 with.;););)

Well Saturday will be fun, giving Ipswich their first win of the season. They have to start winning somewhere and I'm almost certain it'll be tomorrow. We're good at kick staarting other teams seasons.

you know... if we cannot beat a team at the foot of the table at home... we are destined for relegation.... 1-1 tie, and we give up a 2nd half goal... i dont know man.. this is not good...

A club divided, unbelievable, JJ i dont know if you have been reading Pasoti lately but you have to read 2 threads on there.
This is the thread that got it started http://pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?t=36040
and this is the one that fueled the fire http://pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?t=36318
If you want to read both threads pull up a chair and bring a couple of pops, you will need them and maybe some asprin.
It's going to be a loooooooong season

OG,,,, i didnt have enough time to read the whole thing... but is my synopsis correct here: Seip is loaned to Blackpool... his wife and in-laws (the Stapleton's daughter and M/M Stapleton) are in the sky box at blackpool's stadium... Seip scores... his wife and mother in law give the thumbs up... according to that pic, Mr Stapleton is NOT celebrating... fast forward to Ipswitch... Fletcher scores and runs right to the director's box and gives the thumbs up??? kinda a "in your face b!tches, we saw what you did last game".. is that basically it in a nut shell?
i dont fault Mrs Seip for cheering her husband.... Mrs Stapleton is cheering on her son in law i guess... but it tells you where her alligence lies... not with Argyle.. its with her son in law... Mr. Stapleton was not cheering though..
but why in the hell would you let a player that you loaned out play AGAINST you? thats stupidity!!!
im all for Fletcher giving them the thumbs up... i wouldve done the same thing, but my other hand wouldve been the middle finger.

I've been trying to stay away from Pasoti lately, it's all too depressing and worrying. I don't like all this talk of divided boards and some people not having the best interests of the club at heart. I liked the celebration though, thought it shpwed there was some real team spirit there and I think it was fully justified, they have every right to be annoyed by some of the board's recent decisions.
Anyway, Middlesbrough away on Saturday, we'll be withouth Blake as his appeal against his ridiculous red card wad turned down. Can't see us getting anything out of this game and I think Ipswich will probably finally get that first win so we'll be bottom of the table. Might be enough to get Sturrock sacked, probably not. I'm just getting more and more depressed by Argyle at the moment.

you know.. we only have to finish 4th from the bottom.. if we set our sights there.. and root against the other 3 teams close to us... we might escape

JJ you basically have it right, the picture with Mrs Seip and Mrs Stapleton, was at the end of the game and is something they do at all the games, unfortunately they did it in the Argyle box and were showing support for a Blackpool player. If they had done it sitting in the Blackpool box (which is where at least Mrs Seip should have been) i'm sure there would'nt have been the furor that there has been, But when Mrs Seip did her sob on Incider it really kicked off.
Yes you are right JJ if Seip had not been allowed to play against us then there would have been no problem, but guess who lobbied for him to play, (it was'nt the manager).
It makes the club as Fletcher says Mickey Mouse, no offence to Mr Disney, and it's going to get worse next week http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/news/Argyle-wife-faces-biker-death-charge/article-1459305-detail/article.html

i really think this season is a fight for survival.. and to think.. 2 seasons ago, we were battling for a playoff position with Ollie at the helm... were we too quick to throw stones at Ollie for leaving Plymouth, but maybe he saw the writing on the wall..
ugh.... this is going to be a long long season...
where is our infusion of money from the new board of directors? what has the former ManU man done for the club? honestly, what does Paul Mariner think he is going to be able to do with jouneyman players, and no goal scorers AND no money to get any new players..
ugh x 2

What a result, absolutely perfect. An important one as well with Ipswich getting their first win of the season we'd have been bottom if we'd lost. Really, really happy, got to keep it going thoughm Doncaster at home is winnable and one we really should be looking to win if we wan't to stay up. It seems Mariner's arrival has done something, I hope we've finally turned a corner and will begin to play as well as the team's capable of, which I think would be enough to keep us up.
