We are now on the International break for next 2 weeks, a number of Argyle players will be travelling around the world, including Fallon for NZ, Lowry for Australia, Timar for Hungary, and others for U21 games etc.

Latest rumour out of HP is Paul Mariner coming to Argyle as a Ambassador to promote the World cup bid, http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/sport/Paul-Mariner-join-Argyle/article-1391571-detail/article.html

There might be a battle going on in the board room, there is 3 factions in the board room, the Japanese, Kagami and Synan, The English, Todd and Gardner, and the Plymouth connection, Stapleton, Wrathall and Dennerly.

Both the Japanese and The English groups might want to buy out the Plymouth group, and if so would then have a majority of the ownership.

Stapleton is probably on the outs at the moment what with his son inlaw being loaned out to Blackpool.
Also Paul Maxwell the Physio is rumoured to be suspended from his duties, his replacement made a bit of a thong of an appearance in last saturdays game http://www.greensonscreen.co.uk/matchdisplays/scunthorpe09H/2/slides/IMG_3895.asp

It's never a dull moment at Home Park:rolleyes:

Nothing on New England Revolution website about Marriner leaving the club and joining Argyle..

he has to be the heir apparent if they let luggy go

Would this really require Marriner to leave the Revs? It's hard to imagine Nicol without Paul at his side.

Magoo... i just wonder if the whole "Mariner to help Plymouth secure WC bid" is more cover for them waiting for a good reason to fire Luggy, and then Mariner is there to step right in...

i mean a returning Argyle legend might bring the crowds back too...

Possibly. But why hang around Plymouth waiting in the wings for a possibility? He can wait in Boston just as well.

Little more fuel for the fire re Paul Mariner.

Revolution assistant coach Paul Mariner could be headed to England. Mariner, 56, has received an offer from Plymouth Argyle, one of the clubs he starred for as a player, to become technical director of the League Championship (second division) team. Mariner, who scored 13 goals in 35 appearances for England’s national team, has been top assistant to Nicol since 2004. “Plymouth has asked permission to speak to Paul from our organization,’’ Revolution vice president of player personnel Mike Burns said before last night’s game. “We’ve granted that. They have spoken to him, they have had conversations. But nothing is final.’’ Mariner would not comment. “Paul brought an excellent change to this club and to me, personally, he changed me 100 percent as a player,’’ Burns said. “The combination of Stevie and Paul has been phenomenal.’’

The door is now open for Paul Mariner to join Argyle.
Kevin Summerfield left Argyle today, he was the assistant manager. http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1827178,00.html
