Gow penalty in 91st minute makes the final 3-1. Definitely sounded like it was a game where the scoreline wasn't indicative of the game itself (meaning that it wasn't like Cardiff dominated play start to finish). But the score was 3-1 and that's what matters.
Away to Derby on Saturday.

Luggy says on Argyle World that its going to take time.... im wondering if Luggy has the time its going to take.... new sheriff in town... is he going to put up with a relegation battle? or is he going to make a change before we get too far down the table...
in the states, they call this the "death watch"

3 games into the season is a bit early for hime to be canned (of course Norwich did it after the first game of the season after they lost 7-1 at home to Colchester, and who did Norwich hire, the manager of Colchester), i would say that Luggy is under the gun and if things have'nt turned around by the 10th game, then yes he will be gone.
Dont forget Luggy has brought in 7 new players for this season, 2 are now injured, 2 are potential stars so we have been told, but are new to British football and have not played yet, one played his first game last night, and the other 2 cannot really be called new Fletcher and Judge as they were here on loan last season, so if all 7 were playing Argyle would look a very different team,

PASOTI already calling for his head...
You know, I had always thought American (non-soccer) fans were bad when it came to calling for coaches' heads when teams were not doing well, but British soccer fans blow that out of the water. It is incredible the pressure that the supporters put on coaches over there, with very unrealistic expectations. Not every coach is going to be solid all the time and will have down games, months and even seasons.
Like at Celtic, Gordon Strachen had one of the best four-year stretches of any Celtic manager, including carrying the team past the group stages in the Champions League twice which rarely happens there and winning the SPL 3-of-4 times, yet fans were relentless that he wasn't doing enough and that he kept on making stupid decisions.
On the other hand, maybe it is just soccer related, because it sickens me how much U.S. national team fans on this board rip into Bob Bradley. He leads the team to the Confederations Cup final and an incredible win over No. 1 Spain, snapping that team's world-record winning streaks, takes it to Brazil in the final, losing by only one, and BigSoccer is blowing up with people livid at Bradley. I mean, what else do people want? Do they have any idea how tough it was to get to the final and then to beat Brazil in a final? I enjoy BigSoccer, but I have not visited the U.S. section since that day because that was just the last straw for me. There is something to be said for getting behind the team, coach included.
Anyway, sorry to get on my soapbox ... point being, I wish more fans were a little more patient and not overanalayze every little thing and want to fire coaches if things aren't exceeding expectations. As for Plymouth, I would at least give him a few months since a 46-game league season is a long one and in no way should the alarm bells be going off after just three.
Although I know he joined just before midseason in 2007-08, he did finish off that season by leading the team to Plymouth's best league finish in 20 years (according to Wikipedia) and then had a down year last year, which happens from time to time no matter who the coach is.

ARGYLE TO BID TO BE A WORLD CUP CITY
http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1764118,00.html lots of links on that page.
Frankly unfortunately it wont happen in Plymouth, as i posted on Pasoti this morning
N. American attitude is
We will build it and they will come
British attitude is
Will they come if we build it
If you read the thread on Pasoti most people are trying to find fault with practically anything that would be positive to the City of Plymouth.
Oh and by the way we are away to Derby tomorrow, i wont be around for the game as i'm helping my son to move as he is going to College this fall and is moving into his aprtment tomorrow. So hopefully when i get back we will have at least got one point.

That's awesome! Would be so cool if Plymouth got to host World Cup games (as long as America got the other World Cup in the 2018/2022 bidding process, of course :D). I think it would be great for England to show a different part of the country in Plymouth in addition to the expected places like London, Manchester, etc.
From an Argyle point of view, a 40,000-seat stadium would be great for Premier League games.
Obviously, very unsure on if it would ever actually happen, but it would be cool if it did work out.

why can we not hold on to a lead... or protect a tie late in the game.... 90min goal dooms us on the road.... on a corner for cripe sake... if its the
90th min, and they have a corner, i hope to hell Luggy had EVERYONE coming back into the box to play some D...
man... this sucks!!

Guess the only thing to do now after such a tough loss to take is look ahead ...
Hopefully some home cooking will help the team get on track. Sheffield Wednesday pays a visit next Saturday. Plymouth sits 19th after four games, SW is 11th. It's also the last game for two weeks due to the international break, so definitely a very important game because I know the team - and the supporters - do not want to sit on another bad result for two weeks.

Afew changes since last game 2 players have left on loan, McCrory has gone back to Port Vale, he was there last year and George Donnerly has gone to Luton, and one player has come in Darcy Blake from Cardiff City http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1780564,00.html basically coverage at RB for McNamee and Duguid who are both injured, McNamee might be ok for tomorrow but he is very injury prone.
There is a possibility that Gow and Sheridan will be Argyle's strikers tomorrow, in place of Fallon and Mackie, Argyle really need to win this game as there is no game for 2 weeks after tomorrow (international break). Argyle will have a number of players participating in the international break, Judge and Sheridan for Republic of Ireland U21, Johnson for Benin, Blake for Wales U21, Joe Mason for Ireland U19, Fallon will also be going off to play for NZ

Yeah, I'm not even going over there right now.
Fans chanting for his days to be over quickly were even mentioned early on in PAFC's official recap http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10364~47370,00.html.
Strange as it may sound, especially to the non-supportive supporters in Block 16 who chanted riefly (briefly?) for Pilgrims' manager Paul Sturrock's sacking, "encouraging" is a word that should be used in the wake of this match.
Not sure if encouraging is a word that accurately describes PAFC in any manner right now, however.
Honestly though, his days are probably numbered. I believe he will be given until around October or November to at least start showing a hint of turning it around and then may be let go at that point.
Still a long, long ways to go in 2009-10, but obviously a horrendous start. :( Then again, Plymouth is 21st which is exactly where they finished last year. *shrug*

Green.... good info.... but come on.... Crappy start like this... and then losing 3-1 at home before a long international break... if they come out with another stinker their next game, i bet hes gone before the end of Oct...
too bad for the way its going to go down... Luggy has been a legend for the club when they were in lower levels... but now will get the ax... and which Luggy will they remember?

Well another defeat, and we still have not scored from a non set piece. Less than 48 hours to the transfer deadline, and one player has gone out Walton to Crewe for a season long loan.
Strong rumours of 2 new players coming in (maybe not new players but players coming back) maybe one on a permanent;)

Well it looks like one of the 2 rumoured players has been given a better offer and is off to Newcastle instead. nothing confirmed though.

Been on holiday the last couple of weeks so had no idea what had been going on, was hoping to come back and find we'd at least won a game and had another player or two, I'm very disappointed. Sturrock is a legend but I can't see him lasting much longer.
