Well JJ took a few months off from Argyle to recharge the batteries.
So in quick point form, new signings
Duguid, captain of Colchester, good signing.
Puncheon, from Barnet, good signing, may take a few months to aclimatise to Championship, to replace Halmosi.
Graham Stack, goalie, good replacement for McCormick
David McNamee, defender, probably one of the best fullbacks in Championship, but very injury prone, thats why released by Coventry.
Yala Bolasie, very fast forward from Malta, a project this one.
deletions
Wotton trying out with Southampton
Chadwick on trial at Walsall.
Hodge at Torquay
Abdou at Millwall.
Nalis on trial at Swindon
Halmosie sold to Hull 2-3 M
McCormick released by Argyle (no comment)
Timar making fantastic recovery from his fractured scull and hopes to play in opening game and will sign 3 year extension once he gets back to Plymouth after the Austrian tour. Also his wife is expecting in November.
So far 4 exhibition games played

A number of trialists have played, but noone has impressed so far and all have been released.

Timar... will he play with head gear??? they have a head gear piece in the states called "upper 90"... basically a slimmed down rugby helmet.... someone i play with wears one cause he's had concussions, he seems to like it....

just back from a few days in upper NY (plattsburgh) rained the whole time.
Argyle are supposedly signing Simon Walton from QPR, he has put pen to paper but has to pass a fitness examination on tuesday. if he passes it will be for a record signing of 750,000 pounds, there is also speculation of 2 more signing which will also cost 750,000 before saturdays opener against Wolves.
Walton will be an interesting signing a midfielder with lots of potential with some baggage, he suffered a fractured leg last summer in a pre-season game and after recovery was loaned out to Hull for the rest of their promotion seqason.
He is only 20 years old and is engaged to page 3 young lady Nicola Tappenden, JJ if you google her name you might find some interesting pictures
:D:D: she is also expecting their first child.
Argyle lost their last preseason game tonight 3-0 to SWindon who played basically their first team whereas Argyle sent a very young team with no first teamers in it.
So roll on saturday for the first game.

Less than 24 hours to opening day and things have changed for the better and it could get even better before kickoff
Simon Walton has officially signed a 4 year agreement
Craig Cathcart has signed a 6 month loan from Man U. he is a very promising midfielder
Also we have supposedly signed a left back rumoured to be from QPR called Chris Barker
Possibility maybe another signing (loan) before tomorrow, but i doubt it, but
look out next week could be 2 more signings rumours another Man U. young star called Gibson and also highly rumoured is Glen Whelan from Stoke City.http://www.stokecityfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10310~19533,00.html
Cant wait until kickoff tomorrow will be on chat at PASOTI.

Just wanted to pop in here and wish PAFC the best in 2008-09 as the team makes the push to promotion (wouldn't that be awesome! :D). As I've said before, Plymouth Argyle is absolutely my favorite English team (I just don't care for anybody in the EPL) and I have kept track of the squad off and on for the past few years (I even took them to the playoffs in Football Manager :p). I do plan to listen to tomorrow's game as my World audio subscription doesn't run out until the 11th I believe - not sure if I will renew for 2008-09 though ($70 is kind of expensive to pay at once, although it is worth it in the long run - $7 a month - unfortunately it's set up for Americans to pay a year upfront or don't subscribe and I'm unfortunately tight on money right now).

Tomorrow is the big day...well lets see how well we do.... a lot of new signings... very interesting as i thought IH was the king of loan signings... we get simon walton for 4 years.... why is he willing to sign long term at Argyle, but others arnt???
Any news on a goalkeeper??? Roman Larieau???
seems like we have a full squad, new quality signings etc, lets hope we get off to a strong start rather than having to fight from behind for 3/4th of the season

Argyle 2 Wolves 2
Fallon and Seip scoring, and as expected another new player signed this morning Chris Barker from QPR. Attendance 14789
So 4 new signings started, Duguid, Walton, Barker and Stack, Argyles other new signings Puncheon was on the bench, McNamee is injured and Cathcart not available.
Supposedly a good game in attrocious conditions, Wolves are one of the promotion favourites, so to get a point off them is good even though we were ahead twice, but the new players will need time to settle in, i doubt if Walton and Barker even had a practice with the team.
Next game tuesday in League cup against -30 points Luton
