Hopefully this hasn't already been posted. I tried to do a search but it was down. Anyway: http://www.thenextamericanrevolution.org

Someone is trying to collect 20 million signatures in support of more soccer coverage in the media. Apparently they've got meetings with US Soccer and the MLS lined up and Tim Howard was the first signature. I guess it wouldn't hurt if we all supported it as well?

511.

It was about 400 earlier when I signed it. They're going out into Times Square soon to collect signatures.

Should have gone to the ESPN Zone on Thursday. Red Bull event for the All-Star Game. Easy to have gotten signatures there.

My suggestion: post the link and/or start "profiles" for the organization on some major networking websites, e.g. Myspace and Facebook. If someone could spend a little time setting it up, it could look sharp and garner the attention of MILLIONS of young people that visit those sites.

Anyway, I signed. It's 560+.

What kind of media coverage are you looking for?

isnt every mls game on tv? there are soccer websites with storys...

the mls teams all have websites.

Well, they should make their goals more realistic. There is no way they are going to get 20 million people to sign that thing. They should be happy if they can even get 100,000 people to sign it.

If you want media coverage you need to write you local mls teams newspaper..call in to there radio shows say you want to talk MLS

email the program director and tell him you want more mls coverage.

be heard..this petition wont do anything.

I will give you an example..in st louis leading up to the Stanley cup finals..a week before....hockey fans called in or emailed 590 the fan KFNS and complained that they talk way to much nba and not enough NHL.

well the PD got so many calls and emails he put the SCF games on there radio station.

and they also started talking more hockey and less nba.

get your voices heard.

help promote the sport you love

Well, it's up to 633 now. I decided "Enthusiast" was "some of the above," ie I am a player, soccer dad, and fan. 20 million is an absurd total--almost 55K a day for a year. Best of luck hitting that. Two million would be impressive to me.

C'mon people it'll only take a minute. And it's growing steadily. Even if they don't get 20 million they'll still get a lot.

Unless of course you don't sign it because you think it's a lost cause. Then other people won't sign it then pretty soon that's about a thousand people who won't sign it when in fact if they'd signed it it'd be up a thousand.

So just sign it!
