That was a very big 10% :(

With the legend now looking like he's gone to West Ham, I've started this thread for all your memories of a true Arsenal great. From chipping Schmeichel on his debut, to goals at Anfield and beyond, Freddie has been one of Arsenal's biggest and most influential players during his time here. He never had a bad word to say about the club, and captained the team on a few occasions - I was at Highbury the first time he took on the armband after Dennis Bergkamp was sent off.

I for one am sad to see him go, but his time has come. I hope you will all join me in wishing him well in his new challenge at West Ham, and whatever else he chooses to do in his career. Good luck Freddie, and I look forward to welcoming you back at Emirates.

Farewell Freddie.

He was tied with henry as my favorite arsenal player.

Good luck at west ham, and where ever else you may play.

The time had come, and this move was for the best. At age 30 he will get a lot more playing time in the last years of his career, and we will get someone who better fits our current needs.

I wish him the best of luck but we all had to see it coming... I guess not so much going to West Ham but at least the departure from his performance the past 2 years.

I really wish it was another team! :(

I still think he can do a job for them to be honest, he will be one of their better players. I think he could have done a job for us but he would have had to accept a place on the bench and, most of the time, he wouldn't have been in the matchday squad. Re you're right, at his age he wants to be playing and this is best for him.

Plus, at least he doesn't have to sell his house :p

Also, from that video I realised something - HOW MANY OF HIS GOALS DID PIRES SET UP!?! It was at least half! Maybe that's why the goals dried up...

im not gonna pretend that we are going to miss his play next season but he certainly was a legend for us and a great, friendly guy. but lets not pretend his performances havent been deteriorating for us in the last couple of years. hes lost his pace, gets knocked off the ball easily and i just cant see him as being a force for us this season. if he was on a smaller wage id love to keep him as a squad player, but unfortunatly, his salery meant otherwise. it would have been an insult to offer him a new contract with lower wages so this was the only way out.

Little Freddie Ljungberg, you've dyed your bonet red.
You come from Sweden, but you're a Gooner born and bred.

Thanks for everything Freddie, and good luck. Hammers won't be taking any points off us this year, though.

Thank you Freddie! Look forward to seeing him at Upton Park. It was time, but I hate seeing him go. Always gave 110% for the Gunners.

I think Arsenal fans should cheer for him when he comes with West Ham to the Emirates. No matter what he's always going to be a Gunner through and through.

Yeah, and its not like he wanted to go, he no longer fitted into ''Arsenals plans''...
