Here's how the show is shaping up:

PPV Card:

Heavyweight Title: Randy Couture © vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck
Patrick Cote vs. Kendall Grove
Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Alberto Crane vs. Roger Huerta (Might make PPV if time permits)

Dark Matches, might make PPV if time permits:

David Heath vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral
Antoni Hardonk vs. Frank Mir
Marcus Aurelio vs. Clay Guida
Ryan Jensen vs. Travis Lutter

-- Couture might have a real fight on his hands, if Gonzaga's KO of Cro Cop is any indication.

-- GSP vs. Koscheck could be one hell of a fight if both come to play.

-- As could Cote vs. Grove.

From what I gathered of the Crocop fight Gonzaga's is very athletic. Huge physical specimen and great ground skills, The question then becomes if Randy can effectively take him down while avoiding very heavy punches. You also can't ever count out Randy. Have had the peasure of meeting him a couple of times and is a great guy (same with Rampage I may add) Cote Grove andPeirre v Koscheck sound like they are gonna be fun.
Frank Mir after he snapped Silvias arm was one of my favorite fighters, Incredible Jui jitsu. To bad about his motorcycle accident, but has not been the same fighter after the crash. Still like the guy but I don't think mentally he has come back yet. Hopefully this will be his way back.

Heavyweight Title: Randy Couture © vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

All I know about GG is his kick to Cro Cop's brain. I'm sure Randy will be careful of Gonzaga's striking. I see Randy coming in with a game plan he sticks to and working over GG for the win.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck

This could be a good fight or it could be a short fight if either of these guys' heads isn't ready.

Patrick Cote vs. Kendall Grove

This was the fight that made me perk up when I saw it. Grove still seams kind of raw but he really battles when he is in the ring. I'm looking forward to seeing this match up.

Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino

I just hate Joe Stevenson.

Alberto Crane vs. Roger Huerta (Might make PPV if time permits)

I don't see why UFC wouldn't try to get this on the PPV. Huerta is an up and comer and was the guy SI chose to put on their cover. I can't see UFC not playing that up.

Antoni Hardonk vs. Frank Mir

I can't believe they keep letting Mir fight. Yes, he was awesome. But as sanchez said, he has never been the same since the bike wreck and has just been getting pounded in the octagon. Let him step up and announce UFC fights instead of just WEC. He's a really good announcer.

I really dont see Koscheck giving GSP much of a fight, he's too one dimensional, and Couture is going to dismantle Gonzaga, I saw him fight before, very unimpressive, he got a lucky kick on cro cop, it happens, usually not twice.

Why the dislike for Stevenson?

Why the dislike for Stevenson?

I just didn't like his attitude on Ultimate Fighter. Maybe his cockiness gets to me.

But I think he's a great fighter and I like watching him because he is damn good and I want to see him progress and get a big-time fight.

Well, the cockiness is probably because he is damn good and yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing him rise up the ladder as well.

I like Stevenson. One of the craziest things i have ever seen in the TUF house is when Stevenson and Whitehead did that scarecrow thing and stevenson climbed around Whitehead something like 200+ times. That is ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!!

I spoke to Jardine about that and he reckons the whole house was amazed.

Clay Guida vs. Marcus Aurelio should be broadcast as well. Bloody lightweights hardly ever get any PPV coverage. Albert Crans vs. Huerta will be a good fight as well.

So are all the Pride-UFC crossovers going to be in a cage with UFC rules?

Big advantage for the home team there.

Yes, but you will see a lot of good fighters all on one card.

The same thing here in the DC area - there are a few bars that are packed to the gills for the shows. I'm in Toronto this weekend, but have a lead on a bar that should be showing it.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck

Winner goes for the title against the winner of Hughes v Serra.

It looks like Karo is out for some reason?

Alberto Crane vs. Roger Huerta

This may be a interesting fight even though Huerta is really GOOOOOOD.

Wow, there were some good fights fought last night.

Hvywt.: Randy Couture (228.5) vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (252)

Once Couture broke his nose it was over.
Stand him up in the corner and upper cut him to death.
---------------------------
170 lbs.: Georges St. Pierre (170) vs. Josh Koscheck (170)

Pierre was all business and he is back big time
--------------------------

155 lbs.: Joe Stevenson (155) vs. Kurt Pellegrino (155)

That was a great tecnical fight by both fighters. Stevenson is a good fighter.

------------------------------

185 lbs.: Kendall Grove (184) vs. Patrick Cote (184.5)

Cote was the most fit I have ever seen him

---------------------------------------------
155 lbs.: Roger Huerta (155) vs. Alberto Crane (155)

Great fight with great Jujitsu by Crane. Huerta is a tough guy and can escape submissions. Besides gassing and not having the striking power of Huerta my son called me and said Crane looked like he did not train enough no gi.

He said some of the choking submissions crane used work great using the gi but are not that great not using the gi. Crane at his school uses the gi. Just like my son does his jijutsi he uses the gi.
---------------------------------
205 lbs.: Renato “Babalu” Sobral (204) vs. David Heath (205)

Sobral won but not on TV
---------------------------------

Hvywt.: Frank Mir (255) vs. Antoni Hardonk (244)

Mir won but not on tv.

------------------------

185 lbs.: Thales Leites (188) vs. Ryan Jensen (185)

Good fight until Ryan got caught in the arm bar.

Nice submission by Leites he is going to be a very hard guy to beat. He is real good.\
-----------------------

155 lbs.: Marcus Aurelio (155) vs. Clay Guida (155

Wasn't on TV because Guida dominated.

----------------------

Certainly woth the 40 for the PPV

----------------

UF 6 looks completely nuts.

I guess these guys are not afraid of getting thrown off the show. How stupid are they?

Oh yeah.

Gonzaga kicked Couture in the head but Couture reacted fast. Just when you think he can't beat them Couture does. I have nothing but respect for this guy. Felt bad for Spider on his loss, but Ortiz should have told Grove that Cote hits like a ton of bricks. Now I am super pumped for Rampage's first title defense should be a great show also. Had a great time drinking talking and watching the fights.
