I just moved to NYC and had to give up DirecTV which means I had to give up Sentanta as well.

Anyone know of any good Arsenal Bars in the city - preferably on the east side, downtown. I know there's Nevada Smiths, but that place is a mob scene every Saturday with supporters of all clubs - especially ManU.

The Kinsale Tavern apparently has a pretty decent amount of Arsenal supporters but that's all the way uptown on 96th street (and I live on the lower east).

Anyone have any good recommendations? Also, for those who live in the LES/East Village, there's a new sports bar opening up in the LES later this month. (the first in the neighborhood). Here's a link -

It's far from a football pub, but if there's supporters, Sentanta and someone serving pints at 10am, that's all I need. Of course, it may take some convincing to get the place to open early on Weekends - so if you live in the area and are looking for a place to watch, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to lead the charge to take over the joint each weekend.

I often watch Arsenal games (at least the ones not on FSC) at Central Bar, which is located on 9th st, btwn 3rd and 4th ave (a few blocks from Nevadas). There isn't much in the way of singing, but there are usually quite a few arsenal supporters there. It's pretty nice, and you can usually get a seat at this bar. Unfortunately, i don't think they open for the 7 a.m. games, though i would rarely make these games, even if they did.

I thnk Central Bar is a great alternative to Nevada's as it is nowhere near as crowded, and they arrange teh viewing so that each game has it's own section of tvs to watch. And they do open for the early kickoffs... food is pretty good also.

All that said, is anyone aware of a decent bar that shows all the games on the Upper West Side? .. Going down to the East Village at 6:30 on Sat isin't all that fun.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the Central Bar. Anyone have any other recommendations?

I'm lucky that I live across from nevadas, and 2 blocks directly behind me is central bar. I've been there without games on, but the lure of a seat and food during the game is tempting, I'll try it with the first games of ours that our broadcast.
