Anyone watch Alonso pip Massa for the win today? Their little duel with 5 laps to go, was a joy to watch - he good and properly stuck it to Massa, and showed why he is the world champion.

Any other Formula 1 fans amongst our ranks? And more importantly any McLaren fans?(lets stick it to those ferrari bastards :D )

I used to follow it intensely, but fell out of the loop for the last 2 years until I realized Speed Network carries most of the grand prix races.

I need to get crossing Arsenal and McLaren flags to put on my wall.

I've started following F1 again recently. I was a big Hakkinen fan before, I liked the Mika/Coulthard combo at McLaren, so I've stepped in again and started rooting for McLaren like I did before.

Yeah, I was counting the cars as they went off at that corner! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...the funniest was the one that hit the tow truck, Sutil or Speed I think it was...

I didn't realize that Speed Channel had the Grand Prixs. When I'm in France over the summer I would always watch parts of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, just cause it's such an endurance race, but Audi has mopped up the past several years, if I remember correctly. Can't say I've followed a team all that closely, but I always enjoy watching it when I do. Nascar is just such trash.

Ok, I suppose I could say, Nascar just doesn't have the thrill factor that F1 does...to me, at least:p

Nice avatar, first Irish guy in something like 60 years?

Yea first Irish winner of the Open in 60 years-it's about time. I feel for Sergio also as those are my 2 favorite players but his time will come.

As for Nascar, I just started getting into it this year even though I was always the first one to make fun of it. It's pretty interesting plus I hear the tailgates at the live events are amazin.

That's exactly what Padraig said in his speech. He's young, I just felt when he missed that putt he was going to lose the playoff. He shocked me with the almost-hole-in-one though!

They really are two great players though, would have been hard luck on either to lose.

Big fan of f1 here...I get pissed off when 'The Networks' get Monaco,Canada,U.S. & Silverstone...
(commercial breaks are more important than pit stops !!)
..but at least it's the Speedvision commentary crew...who are good IMO...but my fondest memories are of Murray ..

Ecclestone may launch Arsenal bid

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44012000/jpg/_44012775_bernie_203.jpg Ecclestone could be interested in buying Arsenal

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has refused to rule out the possibility of a takeover of Arsenal. Arsenal are also the subject of interest from American Stan Kroenke, who already owns 12.2% of the Gunners. And now Ecclestone may enter the fray, although he admits he has yet to speak to anyone at the club.

I was pleased F1 was on network TV. It needs to be on it more often.

People forget that F1 actually used to be relevant in this country not that long ago.

I hope they don't!:D

The constructor's championship + 1 and 2 is what I'm aiming for - we currently have that, we just need to not mess up.

I hope we keep this alonso/hamilton duo at mclaren for a long long time. We could win every year until they retire - run ferrari out of business, and rename it the Watch McLaren win competition.
