Chile are such a dirty, classless, cheating team. They have absolutely no honour.
The Chile goal should never have happened. It was a phantom call. The Chile player totally dove. The Austrian didn't even touch him.
The red card was also retarded. It was a clean 50/50 tackle and the ref got hoodwinked. The Austrian's should also have had a penalty kick when the Chilean handled the ball on the goal line.
my 2 cents.

yes, it was a disgrace to football I must say.
To come out after intimidating referees and getting in fights with cops, then claiming innocence is totally ridiculous, the referee this game didnt want the same treatment, and didnt want to be seen as the other referee had been, so he often judged unequally.
the Madl red card was not realistic, 50/50 challenge.
anyone notice the excess of diving, I think they must of gotten a few pointers from C. Ronaldo before the game. There was so much diving, the referee saw it and said play on, when there could of easily been a plethora of cards handed to the Chileans.
The Chileans are a disgrace to football, everything they did flies in the face of every decent human being that has ever watched the sport. We're talking about growing the sport in Canada. Well, we cant grow it if people are going to be shown these negative behaviours most apparent in the South American game.
The Austrians played well, and the best of luck to them in their future endeavours

Dont comment on something you know nothing about.. the Chilean side performed very well in Canada and they deserved at least a medal..
Its no wonder why they played the most entertaining football in Canada 2007...

I wouldnt call that entertaining, unless of course they were all wearing three stooges costumes, cuz they were "falling" all over the place.

See, here's the thing. Yes, they were entertaining. But they dove too much. A skilled team like the chileans, up against, say, Canada, don't need to dive. They're a lot better than we are, so why do they dive? It takes all the honour out of the game.
Assuming there was any honour left, of course.

Its hard to expect congratulations from fans who support a team that we beat 3-0 on their Independence Day at home, yet I appreciate Viruk42's objective perspective that caused him to actually say something positive in his criticizement.
I congratulate u guys for almost shutting out Austria and showing a solid side against Congo for the first few minutes.
If your association keeps building up soccer enthusiasm I am sure Canada will go far;) just like Mexico and the US did once their youth systems got solid about 20-25 years ago.
I like the fact though that sore losers like Jadger aren't very common in ur nation.(well, its the image I get after the guy's never congratulated our nation once and has been constantly occupied with every single negative aspect Chile does throughout the tourney.). This is him after the 4-0 win over Nigeria:

:)As some of you know, Chile was voted the most entertaining team by worldwide users in Fifa.com. I wouldn't expect anything less though, I mean:
1) - THERES NO DEPENDENCE ON ANYONE IN THIS TEAM. WE BEAT THE FINALISTS OF THE PAST U20 WC 4-0 AS WELL AS THE HOSTS 3-0:
-Against Canada: without Alexis Sanchez(with him injured and playing like crap in the 1st half) and Hans Martinez, key against Austria.
And against Nigeria: without Arturo Vidal the Portugal game hero as well as our captain Carlos Carmona and an injured Alexis Sanchez.
2) -We scored 4 goals in the later minutes of extra time to eliminate the past finalists of the U20 WC who did not apply the Fair Play rule in that match in 3 instances when we kicked it out for them when they had injured players.
3) -Christopher Toselli(gk) broke the all-time U20 WC RECORD for most minutes without getting scored on which used to be 484 and is now 492.
4)-Chile was the last team to get scored on in the entire tournament and was only scored on in one game-Look at this please:
1st game: Chile 3-0 Canada(Hosts)
2nd game: Chile 3-0 Congo(African Champions)
3rd game: Chile 0-0 Austria(Semifinalists)
Round of 16: Chile 1-0 Portugal
Quarterfinal: Chile 4-0 Nigeria(Last WC's finalists)
5) We were the team that BY FAR traveled the most in the tournament:

Yeah that dude needs some Prozac, he's always melancholic when it comes to Chile. But this Jadger dude is pretty offensive too. However, I feel bad for the guy, he obviously has issues. Everything he's written about us has been negative, never said anything positive.

You can cry me a river... cry me a river..
Anyways, I'm not gonna generalize, he certainly does not represent the open-minded and very kind Canadian image I got from my trip.
Good luck to Canada, hope they can build a strong team in the following years.;)

Great post but just one small correction.
It wasn't our independence day. That didn't happen till one day in April 1982 one could say. July 1st we celebrate the formation of the country. ;)

well IF there was something to positive to say about the Chileans, I would say it. all right, how about this for positive: geez, the Chileans are really good at "drawing fouls" ;)

um, just one problem with your logic there: I was cheering for Chile against Nigeria, I was simply telling you guys to stop being pompous as$holes and not to count your eggs before they've hatched. it was the response of as$hole Chileans like you, and the fact that your team bullied referees and attacked police that made me not like your team play.
congratulate your team for what btw? I dont see anything worth congratulating.
