Creo que como la Copa America fue un fracaso tenemos que tomar este partido como el momento del gran recambio. En un momento similar en 99, el Chiqui Garcia mando un equipo casi totalmente nuevo a enfrentar a los Brasilenos en Bogota y logramos el empate.

Ojala Pinto logre lo mismo o mas.

para este partido va a ser muy importante salir presionando y corriendo desde el vamos........para poder desgastar a los brasile'nos. Colombia debe tener la pelota en todo momento porque si no, el equipo que se va a cansar es el nuestro. Hay que salir con agresividad para marcar y recuperar la pelota rapidamente en la mitad de la cancha y depronto sorprender con una defensa mal parada. De resto, hay que jugar con mucha cautela, pero como dije antes, con la pelota a todo momento

En 22 encuentros tipo A que hemos jugado con los Brasileiros, hemos ganado 2 veces, empatado 5 y perdido el resto. Nuestras dos victorias ocurrieron en un amistoso en Bogota y en la Copa America de 1991.

Nuestros resultados en las dos ultimas Eliminatorias han sido 2 empates y dos derrotas, pero una de esas fue amarga, porque debimos haber ganado y aunque fuera el empate hubiera sido, pero un gol en el minuto 92 le dio la victoria a Brasil.

Como he dicho en otros post, a Argentina y a Brasil hay que sacarles 1 punto a cada uno cuando juguemos de local, ganar los otros siete encuentros, y buscar por fuera otros 6 o 7 puntos.

Well, believe it or not Colombia has several advantages over Brazil at this

1. We are playing in Bogota, in altitude, something Brazil has been struggling agianst for the past 12 years

2. From what I can tell we'll be facing a new youth squad from Brazil not not the Brazil of Ronaldinho and Kaka due to the fact they had an arguement with Dunga over the Copa America call-ups and Dunga simply calling them anti-patriots.

We just need to keep control and possession of the ball like dapip said and let's just hope Pinto calls up the right squad this time.

A mi me gusto como jugo Marin, le dio mas velocidad de arranque al medio campo, ademas es rapido y sabe abrir la cancha, tambien lo mantendria..

Y a Amaranto Perea tambien lo traeria, aunque sea de suplente..no jugo tan mal como Cordoba o Yepez, por ahi si le pasa algo a los titulares

marin is too short and cant defend worth a lick... also didnt really help that vargas nor viafara know how to defend... they basically left the 2 cbs open all the time... think we have better options than Marin like Toja, Elkin among others

Viafara!!!!? that guy sucks.....I never, ever, ever want to see him in our national team...he fouls all the time and acts like a baby when the ref calls it and he couldn't recover a ball if messi served it to him on a bandeja paisa platter.

Also, Viafara's silly long shots are a waste of futbol.

the thing that makes me mad about him is that he is the biggest guy on the field and he is always on the floor... Messi is like half his sizes bumps into him by mistake and Viafara is on the ground asking for a yellow... the guy is a joke and plays in 2nd division why call him when we have so many good young stars??? why cause this guy is tall??? I have never seen him make a header ever !!

We have Cristian Zapata and Aquivaldo Mosquera, not to mention Rivas who was actually a fan favorite in River Plate and he is now in Inter lets hope things go well for him. We also have the two Cucuta CB's they did very well Moreno and Hurtado. And we cant forget about Luis Perrea he actually brought some security to the back line when played in Copa America.

Luis perea hasnt been the same since injury Ath Madrid lost the 1st game of the intertoto cause of him the guy isnt ready.... lets wait till he again is a clear starter for madrid.

also Hurtado of cucuta sucks !! haha Moreno is good option but remember the 1st game against uruguay he cause 2 pks haha ... u really want him on the team?

Gracias a dios hay mucho talento en Colombia. Aun dejando fuera a la mayoria de los jugadores que nos humillaron en Venezuela, hay bastante talento para armar un equipazo.

Si yo fuera el tecnico (y ya se que muchos aqui no comparten conmigo!) aliniaria con tres en el fondo:

Suplentes claves:

Guarin - Podria entrar por Castrillon en necesidad de mas impulso ofensivo. Hasta lo pondria de titular en su lugar, pero contra Brasil prefiero jugar con mas contencion.

Chitiva - Podria jugar en lugar de Pino o en su re-emplazo, pero me gustaria darle la oportunidad a Pino si llega bien tomando en cuenta lo que esta rindiendo en sus ultimas apariciones en Francia.

Renteria/Falcao - Si uno de los dos esta en buena forma me encantaria verlos jugando, pero creo que un Rey alimentado por el mediocampo del Pachuca puede que recupere su buena forma.

Tema aparte - Por el momento tenemos jugadores, en mi opinion humilde, mejor adecuados para jugar de carrileros que de laterales. Por lo tanto prefiero jugar con tres en el fondo (teniendo centrales rapidos) y dos carrileros con mas vocacion ofensiva como lo son Zuniga y Bustos. Si el oponente se nos monta encima el esquema naturalmente se balancearia en tenerlos a los cinco defendiendo.

We need to attack. The best defense for Colombia is an attacking tactic. We need guys that want to push up, take chances and produce opportunities.

I agree with your list EXCEPT for E. Perea. How many goals did this striker score in ALL THE CHANCES he's been given ??1-2 tops.... Let him win a starting spot in his club team in France...then he'll be on form and then he should be considered NT material!

If pinto did not bring in strikers that were in form for the Copa America i doubt he will do it for the qualifiers. He will probably just write down every Colombian players name and put it in a bowl and draw 22 names.
