How do they determine home field for USOC matches? This would mean a lot to Detroit fans as it would be the first MLS team to play in the area. Hurley Field is a nice little park and would be a fine host.

Yeah, it would be great to see the game in the Detroit area. I was at the Bucks-Miami Fusion game up in Saginaw a couple years back and the atmosphere (and game) was awesome.

BUCKS TO HOST METROSTARS
Round Three US Open Cup Match To Be First-Ever MLS Game In Detroit
The Mid Michigan Bucks minor league soccer franchise received the best news possible today from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF): A home game against the NY/NJ MetroStars of Major League Soccer (MLS) in Round Three of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The match will be played at Hurley Field in Berkley, Michigan on July 16th at 7:30pm. More details, including ticket information, will be released by Wednesday, July 2nd. The Detroit-based Bucks advanced to the third round of the country's oldest soccer tournament via a 2-1, come-from-behind victory on Wednesday night in Berkley over the Long Island Rough Riders. "Playing the MetroStars in such a big game is the opportunity of a lifetime for our players. To be part of the first-ever MLS game in Detroit is an unbelievable bonus," said Bucks coach, Don Gemmell.
"With the Bucks' proven ability to stage major events, including one of the greatest Cup games ever against Miami, coupled with the opportunity to finally showcase an MLS team in Detroit made the Bucks the logical choice to host," said US Open Cup Committee Co-Chairman and USL Commissioner, Francisco Marcos. "We expect the soccer fans in Michigan will pack the place." The Bucks previously hosted MLS teams to sellout crowds during the US Open Cup in 1999 and 2000 at their former home in Saginaw. "We hope this game can be the catalyst to our grassroots effort to get our own MLS team here in Detroit," said Bucks co-owner Dan Duggan. "We are grateful to the USSF for entrusting us with this game, which will be the biggest soccer event in Detroit since the 1994 World Cup." The eight Round Three winners will face eight MLS teams in Round Four on August 6th.
