This was just sad. I know it's off topic being that we're all Arsenal here, but to just have this happen in the middle of a game is beyond belief.

LYON, France (AP) -- Cameroon midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed on the pitch during the Confederations Cup semifinal against Colombia on Thursday and died afterward, FIFA announced.

In the 71st minute of the game, the Manchester City midfielder fell down unchallenged around the midfield circle. Quickly, emergency staff came onto the pitch for help and had to make sure Foe, unconscious, did not swallow his tongue.

Off-topic or not, it's a tragedy for soccer and fans everywhere.

And mildly-on-topic, Henry apparently dedicated his (first) goal in the game to Foe.

RIP

I was really shocked when I saw this. He played well for Cameroon this week. Ver, very sad...

Not to be goulish, but this could have ramifications for us. Boro was reportedly interested in Foe and Edu, so now that they can't have Foe they may be willing to up the ante on Edu.

You are complete trash...you say its very very sad then state transfer news and how it affects "us." Get off your high horse...this isnt aout your team...this isnt about trying to finish in place for Europe. Some guy dies and you think about how it afects you...a puny little fan.

Think about your family member passing away, then their coworker says, "Horrible they died...but who is going to finish that damn report?"

Complete Scum...ciao.

absolutely tragic... seeing MVF17 fall on the pitch made me cringe.. just horrible... for the couple years i've seen him play, i thought he was a really solid player and presumably a great guy to be around.. a real tragedy~~

I don't think you're being ghoulish, it's something to think about. And I wonder if Edu is tempted to go to 'Boro because Juninho's there?

And, righteous indignation aside, I don't see any reason why someone can't call the incident sad and then wonder if there's an affect on the Edu transfer in the next sentence.
