As I repeatedly stated, you've missed my argument and everything I said in followup....but ok.

Just so you know, Zidane retired. So saying Riquelme is the second best shooter has no relevance in their comparison.
true but i think that kaka and rona are way better then zidane even when he played and c. ronaldo is way better then both of them.

Ronaldo,Messi and Kaka are the greats of today. they have been great for their club, but once they win one or multiple major international/domestic title(word cup, euro, etc) they cant be considered all time greats. Zidane was great for a decade(3 time world player of the year), lets see how long c ronaldo and kaka can keep it up, then we will see where they rank. For now Zidane's accomplishments for club and country speak for themselves.
A few years ago people were saying ronaldinho was the greatest, but recently he has declined. 3-4 years of greatness doesn't equal all time legend status IMO.
Riquelme is a great talent, but in our world most measure greatness with winning the "big one". Most if not all the greats won them, Pele,Maradona,Jordan,Ruth,Montana,Payton, list is endless.

Zidane was great for a decade(3 time world player of the year).
The reality is that Zidane was only great for 2-3 years.

Now, I know we all have differences in opinion on this topic, but can we all at least concur that Zidane IS among the top 250 players of all time? Contrary to what Teso so foolishly claims.

Heh, that's quite a case shift from "Zidane is trash" to "Zidane was great 2-3 years"
Being a great player for 2-3 years is an accomplishment.

wow such a debate??? Riquelme has not accomplished a thing, and I mean a thing. Astonishing to see such an intense discussion. Zidane is one of the greatest players in the world, Riquelme probably the greatest in his family.

lol I found it humorous that to make Zidane's list unquestionably larger you had to add all the runner-ups

And the poster I responded to had included Riquelme's "nominations" for the Fifa World Player of the Year award, and that made look Riquelme's honours list bigger. I just returned the compliment.

I included two nominations yes but I also didn't include league runners-up or other things such as * Chevalier (Knight) of the Légion d'honneur: since 1998, Torchbearer for the 2004 Summer Olympics, Prince of Asturias Awards nomination in the Sports category, 2006. Zidane is a damn fine player and yes one of the best of his generation but let's not carried away. Zidane benefitted from the players he players with. I've asked the same question numerous times, but what side has Zidane actually had to put on his shoulders and carry? You could list country because it definitely was not club. As far as country, everyone of the arguments of his carrying France get also get debunked. Great players but let's not get carried away.
Furthermore when you made your post you in no way implied "Riquelme hasn't accomplished more than Zidane", you flat out stated Riquelme has not accomplished a thing. You further more went on to state Riquelme was probably the greatest in his family while Zidane was the greatest in the world. Nice back-pedaling.

Maybe we can say riquelme has done very good things in his career, but not compared to Zidane. Zidane had great players around him, but he still managed to rise to the occasion when necessary and at the most important games in soccer. Being successful at the World cup/Euro/champions league says a hell of a lot compared to copa libertadores/SA notoriety. Maybe riquelme just hasnt been lucky enough to be with a better team around him, although Aregentina usually has had a great national team. We cant blame Zidane for being offered millions to be on several great teams and then being successful there. I stay say Zidane without a doubt was better in the big scheme of things.

Well man I am not going to get stuck into an argument, history speaks for itself, achievements speak for itself, Pele speaks for himself when putting Zidane as one of the 125 greatest living footballers, other experts and pundits speak for themselves. Zidane is a great player, admit without shame and move on.

Let's look at this from each underlined sentence/comment;
1. If you don't want to get stuck in an argument, why did you post in the first place?
2. Pele, while one of two of the greatest players is a not job and any seasoned fan knows he talks out of his ass most of the time.
3. Aside from Teso no one has denied he's a great player but based on the hype he is overrated.
Now you can shamelessly move on.

Look, I posted something which is my opinion and I was not looking for an argument. You responded in a stupid way which suggested you wanted an argument. People don't have to post to get into an argument, unless you don't understand that then you shouldn't post yourself.
