A friend of mine started this petition and does not have a BS account.
I am just the messenger and do not care if you think it will not work. All signatures are appreciated. CHEERS!

if your "friend" took the time to start an internet petition, why hasn't he joined BS?

So....
Designated Thursday night games
Weekend games
U-20 World Cup
Gold Cup
Other National Team games
Investment in World Cup broadcasting
That's not an incredible improvement over the past, say, four years (let alone 12 years)?
Granted, SportsCenter could use some improvement, but that is happening before our very eyes with the Beckham circus.
I think this petition will do far more damage than good.
It would be far more constructive to write letters of support, thanking the four-letter network for increasing the sport's exposure.
And no, I am not an ESPN-lover, and I have never been an apologist.
I do, however, appreciate the incredibly positive changes of the recent years.

I think this petition won't do, well, anything.
Can anyone in the class name an online petition that has ever had the effect it was intended to cause?

Soccer to espn is simply a filler of time slots between everything else. Damn the league for signing with them. They don't care about the sport or it's supporters. If they did would their presentation be as lousy as it is. They should have signed with someone else. if the nhl can sign with the outdoor life network there is no reason mls can't go to a network like that.

Yeah, well how is that working out for mls. an exhibition vs chelsea gets primetime weekend over a league match. ESPN is a bad outlet for mls. Look at how they presented the world cup with terrible announcers and commentary. MLS hardly has the following nhl has, with that said it might not allways be that way. In 20-30 years it might overtake it. people expect this league to blow up overnight but that is impossible. FOX would be perfect, they have fsc and spend alot of money on soccer, espn can barely stand up to fox in regards to soccer coverage. You don't see fox personalities mock the sport like you do on espn. How many times has jim rome on espn come out and blasted soccer and encourage people not to watch it and rip it apart with no reprimand from the network? He's knockin espn's own product. Now imagine if he did that with the nfl, the network brass would be up his ass. Just cause espn spends 100mil that means nothing it's pocket change and all they want is world cup,euro/ champions league. MLS to espn is a filler (basard child). Im not knocked out of my seat every time i see the call letters espn like some are. This contract, is a mistake.

I completely agree with you. Besides the Thursday night broadcasts, whenever I hear something about soccer on ESPN they completely rip apart the sport.
