i did such a stupid thing around 27yrs ago, besides getting married of course, and that is i sold a large collection of english football programmes and rosettes.
i've regretted it ever since.

they were from the 40's up til 1968, and i guess we had around 300 or so.
most teams from the 1st division between those dates were represented. the teams that we had the most of was man utd, chelsea, arsenal and the mighty brentford! i get so pissed off when i think about it now.

we also had around 60 football rosettes as well, from the dates mentioned. they were really great to look at and we had them up on the wall the majority of the time.

i was young, recently married, broke, and suffering from brain damage, thats all i can put it down to.

i didn't realize that [a] they would become very collectable and [b] that i would simply miss looking thru' them.

i'm embarrassed to admit that i sold the lot for only $100!!!!
what a tosser!

we also had half a dozen of those old rattles, anyone recall those?

Well I cannot comment on the state of marriage, but the good news is that you can always begin collecting football memorabilia again.

Except for most of the war-time programs, anything after 1960's is still relatively easy to find.

You did not meantion which club you supported or had programs and rosettes from ?

The advent of the internet has made it easier to track down some of those items you are looking for ...

I hope you look forward and enjoy collecting again.

cheers
