Finally--our Premium Membership system is online and ready for your contributions!

http://www.arsenalamerica.com/?page_id=3315

What was supposed to be Membership Monday got moved a bit, but now we have something that will let you sign up for our ‘Premium Membership’ package with ArsenalAmerica.com. Just follow the links for Membership 2007-08. You'll notice it is similar to last years arrangement for now (we hope to have a new system in place in the next month which will be much smoother, but we had to start taking cash in as soon as possible--see below).

In case you are wondering, ArsenalAmerica.com is a free site where you can come and discuss Arsenal without any cost. But because of the requirements of Arsenal Football Club for being an “Official Supporters Club” recognized by Arsenal, we are forced to charge an annual membership fee for ‘Premium Members.’ For the 2007-08 Season this fee remains unchanged at $20 (£10).

Premium membership is required if you wish to request ticket assistance from us. As many of you know, we have several season tickets that we hold and make available to our premium members, and we occasionally get assistance from Arsenal with some spares that they have for supporters club members flying in to see a game. We also hope to arrange a Roadtrip to the Emirates (which will be our 5th Annual roadtrip if memory serves) and this will be open to all Premium Members who wish to fly over for a game or two. Finally, we sometimes get gifts from the club that we distribute to in raffle form to our Premium Members.

So if you are planning to see a game this year, or if you want to just say thanks and help us keep the site alive, click the links send us some cash to keep things going.

Now, a more urgent note:

This month (July/August) ArsenalAmerica, because of the structure of the fixture list and requirements of Arsenal, is going to have to purchase tickets for as many as 7 games in the next few weeks. This means that we need to have a significant pot of money in our accounts to cover the tickets until we get confirmations and have people reimburse us for the expense. So if you are planning on being a Premium Member this year, please follow the links as soon as you can and get your payments to us so we can front the money necessary for tickets.

We've already has one member step forward and donate $2,000 to help cover tickets for the first couple games, but his wife will kill him when she finds out and we need to get our membership accounts up so we can reimburse them.

So sign up today.

ok, for some reason Paypal is asking me to add a card to my account. when i put in the information it tells me that my card is already added to my account, yet it gives me no option to select that card to pay

Paypal hates me. i went in through the front page and when I go to send the money it still asks me to add a card, which if I do it tells me the card is already added. gives me no option to select a card that is already added. oh, and after it doesn't work it tells me I can hit update to update the credit card info and there is no button for update. thanks paypal

Done for 2 of our 5 in household.

Waiting on verification from paypal for remaining 3. (Created acct today, paypal needs to verify my bank acct before processing further transactions??!!)

Maybe I'll just mail a check for the other 3.......I'm too impatient!!

BTW.....I will pay full price for my 2 boys (ages 7 & 9), even thought Rick B said it was half price.

Consider it 'extra funds' for the ticket bank. :D

It will be half price for under-14's, but that won't work quite yet. Stay tuned.

I don't mean to be dense but the web site isn't very clear. I've filled out the premium membership form (I've been a premium member for a few years now) and hit the Submit Query button. Am I supposed to get an e-mail verification before sending money? What address do I send the money to through paypal? Is it the same one that I sent it to last year?

EDIT: I've figured it out but the site isn't taking the membership form very well. It took me three tries to get it to direct me to the Paypal rather than directing me to an Error 404 page. I suspect this works better with IE than Firefox.

EDIT: I've managed to pay for myself but I can't get the Submit Query button to properly link to Paypal in order to pay for my wife. So far the link has worked once in about 20 tries and it doesn't matter whether I'm using IE, Firefox or my wife's Apple.

joined today. I'll have to talk to the wife to get the 20 for her. ah, when you're married to a woman and the arsenal at the same time, it's a balancing act

Finally got the wife's membership paid for but that was not easy at all. I can't tell if the problem was from my end (I cleared cookies for both ArseAm and Paypal before my last successful try) or with the website. I suppose it depends on whether anybody else has had trouble.
