Where about the Tampa Bay area ??? I live over in Lakeland and for Champions League matches I always go to the Buffalo Wild Wings in Brandon or this bar called The Gym in downtown Lakeland. Both have wireless Internet so it looks like I'm still working :D

Just dig through TV listings to find matches.... they'll either be on Fox Soccer Channel, GolTV, or Setanta Sports. You might have the first two if you have digital cable, the third you have to go to a bar to watch. You can find a place that has Setanta here >> http://na.setanta.tv/navenuefinder.htm

I duno why I lol'd at Jihad so much.

And he's NOT NEW!!

Everyone's having a go at me (see previous post in other thread referring to crying purseboy) I'm going to say this infringes my human rights pretty soon. :p

6 posts in Arsenal before his thread constitutes Newbie in my rule book. It's my rule book that counts, no-one else's!!!

Calm down, take a chill pill like Bluto suggested but please don't flame newbies!! (or anyone else for that matter!!!)

Yoss and bigg have been the only real consistent mod presence around here for the last month or so (with everybody traveling and the like) and on top of that, this off season has been madness. I would probably be a little less patient if I were in the same boat. :)

Thats fine, but there is a list of people who are mods in each forum. Bigg is a friend but isn't a mod on here.
The off season has been madness I agree, however it is also the time when most new members join both BigSoccer and Arsenal America. More people join between May and October than at any other time. In fact the figures are something like 3 times as many. Therefore we have to be a lot more tolerant of newbies. Like it or not this is a business and therefore pissing off newbies is not the way to make them paid subscribers. Of either this site or Arsenal America.
It hasn't helped that Cannon, Bighorn and myself haven't been around as much. I tend to stick to the other forums I mod as this has become quite stable and just do the ticket stuff. However if I get a PM saying I need to do something or have a word then I will. Flaming on here is not the way to do it. End of.

Can't say I've ever been to Dunedin.... maybe through on 17. Best bet is to use that Setanta search thing because most places with it seem to be owned by English/Scottish people that moved over here and are still rabid followers of their club.

I was led to believe that you didn't have to be a regular poster on BigSoccer to get tickets via ArsenalAmerica. So therefore, if they don't post here except to put their requests up, it doesn't really make a difference. BigSoccer doesn't make any money from people signing up for ArseAm, and most newbies who sign up here don't become paid subscribers of BS unless they post for a significant period of time and it's worth the money.

Therefore IMO, it doesn't really make a difference whether or not you are more tolerant of newbies or not. I'd suggest that most people visit the ArseAm site, see they need to post on BigSoccer to request tickets, then sign up here, not the other way around. Therefore, that's why it's not really right to turn the situation into an economical one as let's be honest, if ArseAm are bringing the money in most people won't care how many people sign up as paid subscribers of BigSoccer (not being harsh, it's just the truth).

On top of that, I don't mind newbies. I really don't. I don't log on looking to flame newbies into oblivion. I take the same attitude I have on the forums I do moderate, which get a lot more people starting silly threads when the subject is already being discussed. My opinion on the matter is this. Most people lurk around for a little while, check a few threads and so on to see what's being said, then start posting or start a thread if there's not something on the subject already. When people start posting threads which are already being discussed elsewhere it clutters the forum and annoys me. Regardless of whether or not I mod here, I still post here and I have done for a long time, so it annoys me.

For example, there was one poster a while back who started three threads in a row on different subjects that were already being discussed. Are you saying that nothing should be said to him simply because the ArseAm membership drive is ongoing? People need to be told things so that they don't persist in doing them, and yes perhaps I don't word things in the right manner all the time, but still I get my point across as I do in the forums I mod.

So in conclusion, most newbies are cool, but I don't see why the regulars should have to put up with the incessant ramblings of newbies who don't really care for the flow of the forum and disrupt things simply for the purpose of an economic issue that is wholly irrelevant.

And before anyone says anything, this post is seperate to anything that has been said earlier.

It hasn't helped that Cannon, Bighorn and myself haven't been around as much. I tend to stick to the other forums I mod as this has become quite stable and just do the ticket stuff. True, so yoss shouldn't be the only mod who is on here all the time. He's gone away and pretty much hell has broken loose. I appreciate you have other forums to mod but this one probably has the most traffic out of all of them so perhaps you should see if Cannon and Bighorn are going to be around to do the modding duties as they have been required to recently, or add another mod to the roster of this forum. Not myself, someone who hasn't modded before and has the time to do it would be a good start.

What happened to Cannon? is he gone forever?Funny you should ask as yesterday I made my first short visit back on here since May.

Anyway, real world stuff has taken all of my time since the Spring. Haven't had time to watch much football...let alone come on here to talk about it. I'm trying to get it all taken care of before the new season/August but I'll be on here about once a day until then so just PM me if you need something and I'll take care of it when I'm next on.
