Bim-frickin'-bo. (http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0625/1572735.html)
Great looking bimbo, but still a bimbo.

Guerrero comes to "Monday Night Football'' from Fox Sports, where she worked on "Best Damn Sports Show Period.'' She has also appeared in more than 200 commercials and dozens of television shows, including "Matlock'' and Frasier.''
Yeah - that's quite a bit of NFL experience and knowledge she's gonna bring in.
No picture though so I have no idea who she is.

Jeebus, guys, lighten up a bit.
She was at Fox for I believe a good four or five years, working on both the late National Sports Report, as well as doing the updates for BDSSP. She's no Shelly Smith or Robin Roberts, but unlike Jumanna Kidd, she does have a sports television pedigree.

Joumana Kidd does work for NBA TV, so she does have some sports background, just not in football. She is, however, much better looking.

Yes, she does. And she's not the worst choice. But she's still a bim with broadcasting experience.
Could have been worse - could have been Jill Arrington.

The hottest 38 year old you will ever see. I miss seeing her on the "Best Damn Sports Show".

Well, it's the broadcasting experience part (sports broadcasting, at that) that's important. The fact she's hot does not detract from her hiring, IMO, especially as a sideline reporter. I'd be less surprised by your slight sense of vitriol had they put her in the booth.

That's a viable option :D

I realize the sideline reporter isn't close to the most important thing in the world, and I guess I shouldn't be so hard on her, but I've gotten used to having someone in that position whose work I respect.
Guerrero is hot, but I think this is a (small) step backward. I guess they wanted to keep Kolber on Sunday nights, which makes sense. I think Bernstein does a nice job, but I couldn't see her taking the gig for a year, and then having to go somewhere else or be shunted off somewhere else at ABC.
But given the choice between her and Joumana or some of the other names that were thrown around, this is not as bad as it could have been.

I still miss that show Sports Geniuses because it was an excuse to see her prance around in tight workout clothes for half an hour.

Get to know her a little better here.

Apparently she fights with her boyfriend over the sports page.

39 years old and hot. I like that.
I have no problem with her at all or the likes of Vernica Paysee. Who doesn't like hot chicks talking about sports they like?
I doubt they are over at BigNFL.com complaining about the perceived lack of NFL experience.
Eric Dickerson had plenty and he got ripped.
I don't expect Meet the Press on the sideline. Interesting talking points is enough for me. And if they're hot, so much the better.

How much editorial freedom would a MNF sideline reporter have? Do they have producers scripting their questions or do they make their own judgments on questions to ask?
It seems more experienced sideline reporters like Jim Gray or Bonnie Berstein have more free rein, while a Jill Arrington might not.

I have never seen Jill Arrington ask an intelligent question.
Same with Lisa Guerrero.
It's eye-candy, kids. About the only thing I can say is that Veronica Paysse is, at least, bilingual.

"I read in that Hispanics now are the second largest part of our population and culture," (Producer Fred) Gaudelli said Wednesday. "Anytime you can add that type of diversity to your team you're only serving your audience."
Could have hired Veronica Paysee. ;)

Too bad Heather Cox hasn't done any NFL games. I'd like to see her out there. Suzi Kolber would be perfect. At least we'd get to hear some good questions. So would Bonnie Bernstein but wrong network.
