In this order:
1. Marcelo Bielsa: un genio inentendido. Plus: he is the least media-friendly of all the possible coaches out there. Plus2: he aint gonna play Tristelme, that's for sure.
2. Gustavo Alfaro: low profile, solid coach. Excellent at managing groups. Deserves a shot at it.
3. Cholo Simeone: still a lot to learn, but could bring out the garra and "cuchillo entre los dientes" mindset. He is a lock for future squads.
4. Carlos Bianchi: not my favourite, but his success ratio speaks for itself. Unlikely to happen though. He is too damn cocky.

Coach is an issue, but to me the bigger issue is something i've complained about several times, most recently after the last WC. The one we must all push to get rid of is that fat suit, Grondona. What has Argentina done as of late in his tenure? Perpetually underachieve, that's what. Bianchi sits on the sides all these years because Grondfona doesn't like him, while retreading the usual suspects, in this case a guy who barely got Argentina into the '94 WC. he shouldn't even be there. Brasil gets all kinds of credit for this win, but how about the Brazilian fed going against the wishes of virtually their entire population and hiring the defense minded Dunga? If anything, it takes sack, something Grondona does not have. what about Gallego? Bianchi? e
Pelado Diaz? I'd love Simeone, but i still think he does not have sufficient experience and is too close with many of the presnt NT players. It'll never happen but i'd love Capello, someone who would not take shite from anyone and would put the petty club loyalties aside. But that will never happen so long as Grondona is there.
Geez that game me jodio ayer.
too talent laden to lose a game like that.

We simply wont win shit with Basile sorry guys but i cant see it happening :> and thats sad im gonna take my mind of the NT ever since pekerman changed the last copa's players our team have sunk to become worst! Argentina is like the Titanic now because of the coaches that we get! and im gonna kiss the world cup good bye from this day on :>

I don't think he'll resign at all. And Grondona will back him. Grondona's track record at this is quite poor. But whatever.
At the same time, If Basile stays, it doesn't mean all hope is lost. We just have to then observe how Basile reacts, and learns from his mistakes. If we see a similar team trotted out at the next friendly, then we can pre-emptively brace ourselves for disappointment in 2010.

yeah thats what i was thinking to be honest with u i thought bielsa did a great job after 2002! and i luved how he learned from his mistakes and knew what he was doing, i was also surprised by his resignition! so if Basile learns from this which i dont know why i tend to think that he wont! than its good, if he doesnt learn? then TKORL u and i will start cheering for the netherlands in 2010 ok? lol :p

What's the chances that we are going to change our coach?!
It seems that no one wants the job... Both Bielsa and pekerman resigned no one fired them. And Bianchi was offered the job after Bielsa but he refused. Maybe we should try someone younger but who? Maybe it's time to call Maradona...

Dude, by all accounts, Maradona can't coach.
