As you are all aware that Australia and New Zealand lack match experience well here is my suggestion but it depends on the other nations to comply. Remember the Optus World Series? Well that was a four nation tournament that had 3 nations play with the Socceroos for the cup. Well how about we do the same and have Australia, New Zealand and 2 other teams invited to play. Or if it will be bigger like 6 teams have Australia, New Zealand and 4 invited nations play in 2 groups of 3 and the top 2 play off in a finals series and then a final. What do you all think of that? I know that if this is to get off the ground it has to be approved by the invited FA's and their clubs releasing their players.

But what do you all think?

We had one here in the past called the Canada Cup. It wasn't much of a profitable venture from the start. The changes in the international schedule killed it.

Australia should try and set up an "Ashes Series" with England.

Hey that's a good idea but we can't call it Ashes as that is cricket but we should have something that is significant for both teams in a football way like the Marston-Best Cup. 2 of the best players from Australia and England. Or the Warren-Best Cup or who ever is chosen as the name of the cup would suit me fine. But i think that a world series like we did in 96,97,98 and then in 99 would be successful. What do you all think of the proposed structures I made earlier?

The GB v. Aus RL competition is also been called the Ashes by the media. You wouldn't be stealing anything.

rugby league?!?! pffft they just want to justify a rivalry between them with affixiating the cricket competition. plus they are the only sides that play.

No ASHES is for cricket a new name has to be made for football.

but it sounds good but that is cricket's trophy.
