Nothing we didn't know in the end.

Argentina pounded on teams that THEY HAVE ALWAYS pounded histroically with it style. and it's depth. But again wilted against a team that either is it's equal or it's better. Brazil played easy TEAM soccer, while Basile wanted to win games on the feet of a few brilliant players that was to mesh well with the rest of the team. IN THE END OUR OLD MENTALLITY did us in again.

1. We played GREAT soccer against teams in formation (USA, MEX, PARA, and Peru) and did back flips when we pouded on them, We did what we needed to do. Pound them, but should have been realistic in terms of why we pounded them YES we were better and we should have been smarter in not letting it get to our heads which it did.

2. TEAM TEAM TEAM. AM sick of reading in OLE, CLARIN, and LA NACION how Argentina is a band of brothers, are these buddies this unbreakable team. When yes they are band of brothers, but THEY ARE NEVER A SOCCER TEAM! Brazil beat us with TEAM soccer, and we play alot of individual soccer. Messi is going to be the bext great one, but he needs to be less selfish, and WE NEED TO STOP DEPENDING ON 3 OR 4 PLAYERS, AND START MAKING SURE ALL 11 ARE ON THE SAME PAGE! If Messi, Tevez, Zannetti, and the WHOLE team has speed, and Riquelme is SLOW and "thinking" THEN WE SHOULD PLAY TO OUR TEAMS ADVANTAGE WHICH IS SKILL AND SPEED, Not to the way one player plays. Slow.....

3. OUR STYLE beats the minos of soccer, NOT the ones who are equal to us. Brazil, and Germany have beaten us time in and time again with THEIR soccer, while our style wilts. We need to Understand that we need to MODIFY how we play against the other powers. We can play sweet and pretty soccer against the minos, BUT we need to play DIRECT, SPEED soccer against the BIG GUNS if not we will keep crying in finals and World cups.

4. Riquelme ONCE again shows he's the head dog in the pound when he's the only BIG dog. But another BIG dog in the pound and he crumbles. Slow SLOW SLOW, Roman did nothing today and in the World Cup against Germany because he had players of HIS CALIBER around him playing against him. When AImar, the midfileder most UNDER used by ARgentina EVER in big games, his speed created almost an imideate chance when him and Messi hooked up. But UNFORTUNITLLY we took another goal and that was that.

5. In terms of the Brazil game, Why no milito?????? We had 2 wide players up top throwing crosses to the middle of the box with NO ONE there????? Big MISTAKE by BAsile.

6. Messi is the real deal.. With Aguero, Pavone, Hueguain, and other fast paced players and hopefully a Basile that wakes up and plays to his teams talents using skill and speed, all 11 on the same page we have a EXPLOSIVE TEAM......

7. WCQ will be more of the same we will qualify hands down but come the world cup we will need to adapt and if we don't out in the quaters again.

8. We are sad, but there are bright spots, the brighest spots I THINK are the young players that we need to USE and FAST to get them going on the National team.... The darkest spot is on the bench. Basile is a winner, just like roman when he's the big fish in the sea, but when another big fish comes around. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

I think we need a new coach.

But if Bielsa wasn't fired, and Pekerman wasn't fired, Basile prolly won't be.

Bianchi people. It should have been Bianchi back in 2004....

going to Basile was Grondona's FU to Bianchi.....

Boy are we paying for it now. :(

Why not Gabriel Calderon or Simeone? They should be considered.

Or even a foreign coach.

Argentina will never have a coach that isn't argentine, due more to nationalism than soccer...

But if I could pick a foregin coach I'd say Pellegrini....

I was very scared of Argentina when Simeone played.
Your players looked like they could run twice as fast as we could. And they would sweat blood.
Today Brazil's midfield just ate Argentina alive and guys like Riquelme, Veron, Messi and Tevez were out of the game

Tevez tried to put some anger into the game, but it was not enough.
IMO, Argentina should rely on it's fighting spirit more than it's flair.

OK, I need some explanations here.

About 1 month ago Riquelme wowed South America when he led Boca to 2 convincing wins over Gremio, and he also shined throughout the entire Libertadores. He also did well throughout Copa America and had a good shot which Doni defended.

Why is he slow? WHy are you saying he crumbles?

He is saying that against tough opposition that man-marks him, Riquelme disappoints.

I mean, the last top level club team he really played well against was Inter Milan a year and half ago.

Riquelme is good, I rate him highly, but I don't think we should build our attack around him. His main criticism for two years has been is that he fades against top quality opposition and he hasn't challenged that argument this tournament.

He stated that Riquelme chokes when he plays against the likes of him.

All of Gremio's players are very inferior to him.

Calderon is coaching Oman right now he coached Saudi Arabis and turned them into the best team in Asia! they defeated asian power house Korea twice once in Saudi and once in Korea for the first time in their history! but too bad when he was vacant we hired Basile! now he coaches Oman!

Yeah that was quite impressive with Saudi Arabia. I mean Parreira was also managing small national sides in the Mideast before taking Brazil to '94. Who knows if he is the man?

i dont know man i seriously doubt they'll change the coach! if Dunga was hammered 3-0 then Brazil would have a new coach by now but not Argentina we gotta get humiliated in the WC for the AFA to actually change our coach!

i dont know if anyone has pointed this out but all our talkkling and discussing is strangely similar to wat we were saying after WC 06... we lost building a team around one guy and we did it again in the COPA! In one years time we learned absolutely nothing... maybe losing today to the least talented brazil team ive ever witnessed will spell it out more clearly to AFA and the argentine coaches...

YOU CANNOT BUILD A TEAM AROUND A 10...
ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTACK AND DEFEND WELL...ITS CALLED TOTAL FOOTBALL
PLEASE LET THE YOUTH PLAY EVEN IF THEY HAVE TROUBLE AT FIRST...
FAST FOOTBALL PLEASE

Not just fast football, but football that creates chances in front of goal.
