It has fallen unto me, to run the pool for 'The Open' this year at my local.
I thought we could do the same for OT subscribers.
WANNA PLAY ???
Here's the rules:-
Pick a player that you think will win, or finish highest on the leaderboard at the end of the tourney.
Then pick another player that you think will finish lowest on the leaderboard
after the cut.
If one, or the other player does not make the cut, you are disqualified.
The players cannot be reversed in standings. Player 1 MUST finish higher.
The winner of the pool will be the person who selects the two players with the largest number of places between them.
Don't wanna get into any 'on-line' gambling issues ...so the winner will receive bragging rights only.
And just to make it more fun...you can pick 2 'pairings'.
'Rien ne va plus' is Thursday morning...so check for last minute qualifiers
or W/D's.
Haven't made my picks yet...but the pool is open if anyone would like to dive in.:)

I could have sworn I saw Langer as qualified the other day.
OOooooh well, too late to change it now.
You'd think the idiot that made the rules would at least check his players had qualified...:D
Won't say any more about the leaderboard as I did not put an [R] in the title.

Has to be Rick that edits OT threads ....and I'm sure he's busy right now.
So I guess we can just restrict banter to previous day or speculation of next round.

i really wish the course was playing like it was last time. i love seeing professional golfers struggle and then laugh when they moan about how hard the conditions are.

Last time was a joke.
M.Campbell is a joke as well, bag him he shoot great, paise him he shoots S***  .
How sexy was tht 6iron that tiger hit into that par5, downhill sloping left to right, hits a power draw stick it to 15ft. im a 1 handicaper, trying things like that you can quite easily miss the ball or hit so far behind the ball its a joke.

just because the course is tough and professionals can't break par doesn't mean it is a joke ;)
no one said it was supposed to be easy!!!!

No one said it was meant to be difficult either. US Open is the only tournment that they shoot around par or worst, every year.
Majors aren't all about scrambling m8, Unfortunately for you. Fans want to see good golf, They see enough bad golf every weekend that they tee it up.
and who said it was easy, golf isn't easy my friend, a 25 yard wide fairway, is alot hard to hit than what those pro show. 2 degree of a open club face would see your ball disapear right about 20 over 200m, that not including angle of attack, and all the other crap that goes with it.

i think you are getting me all wrong here...
i love watching good golf, i love watching it on TV. I play golf and I suck at it.
that being said, if it is going to be a Major Championship I'd rather see the players strugglea bit and playing closer to even par then the winner finishing better then -12. that is just me.
