I was at the RBNJ game and saw one of the Rev's support ejected by the crack security at Giants' Stadium. Anyone who was there know what went down? I hope they didn't kick the guy out for throwing streamers onto the field during the corner kick.

I'm curious about this now...

The fan ejected will probably come on later and tell us what happened. Won't say his name for the time being.

I don't believe it was necessarily streamers, even though security was being gestapo-like with that.

Im not going to say any names at the moment because I don't know what they want to be done or anything, but apparently it was for a thrown streamer that landed at the 6 yard box. The security obviously thought he was a menace and was trying to take a hit at the players, obviously it was thrown without those intentions, but security knows no difference. The other reason that i heard was that some fans called up security and complained about that specific person and security came and "dealt" with it.
If its a case of throwing streamers though, that is bogus. the rest of us were throwing streamers as well as the empire supporters club. Completely unfair to take out this individual for absolutely nothing.

****These are not actual facts, but rumors that I have heard, although I believe the streamer case is the reason.

What utter bullshit. Perfect opportunity for an "Attica" chant, though.

Props to you guys for coming down. It made the game and post game 10x better than usual.

The individual was in front of me. Was warned in the first half by the streamer Nazi for having fun. 2nd Half threw a streamer in the direction of Van Den Burgh for the corner. Didn't hit the player, but SWAT deemed him to have the intent. It wasn't the Six yard box, none of us have that good of an arm. :)

Welcome to our world.

I WILL NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT REVS SECURITY AGAIN.
We have it easy compared to you. I feel so bad for your entire organization on every level.

Oh my God your security staff is on a power trip. What are they a bunch of guys that failed the civil service exam and can't be cops? Pity them.

I hate your security staff...absolutely hate them. I show my disgust at the end of the game and told them they should be looking for terrorists not streamers. Oh well. It caused a huge distraction from the game. They did a terrible job at the end of the game as well there was a big incident with a full bottle be thrown at someones head and a bit of a scuffle right behind the Fox Soccer Channel post game desk.

Their security guards are nothing but assholes on power trips. Yes, i was the culprit. As Matt said, myself and another individual were warned in the first half for throwing the streamers back on the field. Since then, they had hawk eyes on the two of us and the very next streamer I threw in the second half I was out of there. Supposedly I hit Van Der Berg, but I bet you can go back to the tape and see that he never gets hit by a red streamer. If anything, that streamer hits the ball.

Anyway, I'm guilty of throwing a streamer because I was told we could throw streamers. We got the ok for the streamers.

They took me to the back, took my personal information down (at least they let me watch the end of the game on the television), then took me two doors down to the New Jersey State Police where they once again took my information, photographed me (I gave them a nice big smile and a thumbs up) and put me in a holding cell for about 5 minutes before letting me go.

They tried to scare me into saying I need to come back to New Jersey (an absolute scare in itself) for court because what they had issue me was a summons to court. Upon further review of the paperwork they gave me, it was not a summons, but a notice stating if the court wants to charge me, they'll let me know.

I also have to write a letter to the head of security explaining why they should let me back in.

Actually, you overshot him and the ball by a couple of yards. Clear as day on TV. The streamer may have come close to the ball as it settled on the ground, but Van Den Burgh never got touched. If anything, he seemed pretty nonchalant about the whole deal. Sucks that security went postal on you for that.

That sucks, plain and simple. I remember in the original Bus Trip thread the question was asked quite explicitly and i think great care was taken to make sure the streamers would be kosher. I think that makes for some evidence in your defense if need be.

Also, given the post match festivities next to the FSC station outside, I think I have a better grasp on how their security got to be the way it is. With nuts like that running around they're probably a bit more uptight.

Un-********ing-real. Seems like they did everything short of a cavity search. At least you went out triumphantly holding your Revs scarf high. A nice in your face for the scrubs in yellow.

What went down? I was near the front of the crowd and ducked out after the second commerical break. I was oblivious to what was going on.

man. i cant believe they actually put you in a holding cell and photographed you. what crap!

what a dramatic evening.

thanks you guys were great as usual.

the scuffle by the Fox booth at the end was nothing. a couple of kids who were taunting us during the game (whom security removed), did a little shoving and hat tossing when our group pulled up behind them. security grabbed them and i helped get the parade moving towards the parking lots. it was over pretty quickly and no harm was done (from what i saw).

drama.

I'm not sure if you guys saw this, but they actually intervened and stopped us from doing wipeout in the 88th. Apparently they saw someone trying to light off another smokebomb and attacked one of our members on crutches. We all had to go back him up. Apparently our first wipeout was too crazy for their liking.

This is nothing new for them, it has been going on for years.

Yes, i was the culprit. ...
Well, shame on you! :D
They took me to the back ... then took me two doors down to the New Jersey State Police ... tried to scare me into saying I need to come back to New Jersey ... for court because what they had issue me was a summons to court ... the paperwork they gave me ... was not a summons, but a notice stating if the court wants to charge me, they'll let me know.
Make sure that you check the paperwork carefully. If all you received was the standard, 8" x 11" piece of paper banning you from GS with the procedure for reinstatement, fine. If you received a 4" x 9" paper with stamped numbers at the top, that is a criminal summons, probably for disorderly conduct! At least one of the guys in 101 received both, so you need to be sure!
If you received an actual summons & fail to appear in court, then a bench warrant would be issued for your arrest. No one will come to MA to look for you, but you could be arrested & have to post bail if found in NJ. (If this is what it takes to keep you away, so be it! :D)
You can always call the East Rutherford Municipal Court (1-201-438-0169) on Tuesday to check.
