Youre right, youre not. Its a close call tough :p
Well done MSV!
I have to second that! WELL DONE MSV!!
No excuses, no crying, no complaing from me.
Just VERY WELL DESERVED CONGRATULATIONS to you fans and your team.
You guys came into our house and KICKED OUR F#CKING ASSES!!
Thank you for showing us that BVB might have a new team, but they have that same f#cking coward's mentality at home.
You guys deserved the win. I can't say anything less than you guys came in and kicked our f#cking asses.
Again, congratulations! See you in Duisburg on week 18. Hopefully, my guys will have found their balls by then and we can return the favor.

In watching the highlights (Goltv showed the KSC game instead), it seemed there were a lot of MSV supporters. I am sure Dortmund will get their act together by Week 18. By then I am sure MSV will be in the middle of the table.

Stuttgart are limping a bit themselves. Fight them like you fought us.

I think Duisburg will go into the next match with every chance of taking away points... we haven't started well, and i'm not as confident as i should be going into this home game against Duisburg.

Still, the match is in Stuttgart. I hope Duisburg comes back wanting a win. A win away in Stuttgart would be exceptional, a tie would be great.

Stuttgartfan... Was it me or did all the calls seem to go against Duisburg? I thought it was a good game, but I expected VfB to play better. MSV had a lot of chances but just could not finish. I think after this game Starke has provided equal to Koch. Any other thoughts? How is Grlc's injury? At least they did not get blown and I was able to watch MSV on TV!

MSV played mostly the way i expected them to: no individual brilliance but with lots of solid teamwork and discipline. It was basically the way you played against Dortmund though this time it didn't work out as good for you.
I think all together we had the much better chances and were deserved winners. Besides the goal, Marica had his shot cleared off the line in the first half, Starke made a great save off Pardo's freekick, another header of ours was cleared off the line by accident by Gomez, and in the second half Ewerthon and da Silva both missed one-on-one with the keeper.
Nonetheless Duisburg had some chances too and Schaefer made a couple of good stops for us. In the second half your side even took control of the game for the majority of the half, and I must admit that i was nervous until the very last minute that my side would throw the result away. Ishiaku, though he didn't score today, was the most frightening. He always caused trouble and it was a sigh of relief whenever he lost the ball. He's a very good striker from what i see so far.
Concerning your keeper i think Starke was great yesterday, man of the match imo, and is a better keeper than Koch. As for the referee, he certainly seemed to favour us a little more, can't argue that, but he made no decisive decisions for us. The red card you got in the last minute was fully deserved and it was just plain stupid of Tararache. He didn't have to get sent off in the 90th minute, but it's his problem, now he'll be suspended next week.
Overall: i think we won deservedly, but your side put up a good fight throughout the game and could've easily gotten a point if things had gone a little differently. If you play like this, chances are good that you will avoid relegation.

I definitely agree with teh Tararache red card. I felt if he was not in the game MSV would have won. Every shot he took sailed over the net. If one of them was actually on goal, it might have been a different ending. Good luck to the rest of your first half.

I was at the match and I thought Duisburg started much better and looked like the home side for the first 20 minutes or so. In the last 20, with Stuttgart stuttering up front, I just got that feeling that Duisburg would nick a draw out of it.
It's always odd watching "foreign" football though, as you are never quite sure if the reason players aren't making the runs and passes you'd expect is down to football culture, or if they are just playing like turds that day. There were a number of times when my feelings leaned towards the latter, it has to be said.
My overall impression was that both teams could play a lot better than they did on Saturday, but at least they weren't as incompetant as the two I saw at Kaiserslautern yesterday, who played like two teams who'd both been bribed not to score.

You were at the game too? That makes three bigsoccer posters! I have had a VfB season ticket for a decade now, and i know that one of the American VfB fans was at the game too. That makes 3 bigsoccer posters - a record for VfB i'm sure!
And by the way, if you were at FCK - Greuther Fuerth, i feel sympathy for you. What a crap game. FCK won't be promoted this season it seems, their team just isn't good enough. And as for Fuerth, they aren't that good either, no one should let their early results fool them. But this is off topic.

I missed the Stuttgart game because i spent a week on vacation in the Netherlands, but now that i am back i am really thrilled by the way we beat Bielefeld yesterday.
First half was a standoff between the 2 defensive lines with not too many chances to score for any of the teams. Duisburg was controlling the game mostly but Bielefeld seemed a bit more dangerous in the front.
Due to Tararaches red card in the last game Bommer had to change the midfield:
1. Half:
--------Grlic---------
Tiffert -----------Idrissou
---Georgiev--Maicon-----
Idrissou was not that good, so Bommer substituted Lavric for him, switching to 2 forwards and putting Georgiev on the left side for Idrissou. As a result the game picked up pace toward the Bielefeld goal and after Bielefelds defender Langkampf had to be subbed out due to injury MSV scored thrice within only 6 minutes:
Tiffert back to Maicon, who within parts of a second took a marvellous shot with the tip of his foot from a distance of about 16yrd. No chance for Hain.
2 Minutes later Ishiaku dribbles past 2 defenders, who try to foul him (in the goalie box). Any other forward would have taken the invitation to fall and get a penalty kick. Not Ishiaku. He somehow managed to stay somewhat upright and score the 2:0. He truly is a "buffalo".
Another 2 minutes later a Grlic corner lands on Ishiaku's head, making it 3:0. The Bielefeld defense was paying more attention to the "Kopfball-Ungeheuer" (heading monster) Lavric, so Ishiaku had some space.
MSV then had another few good chances to score, it could have easily ended up 5-0.
Maicon was great, he is only 21 years old and already able to compete on a high level. Lavric did a good job creating more room for Ishiaku and had some good chances, too. But the real MVP is Grlic. It was just amazing how he performed. Always ready to tackle, ready to take a pass and most importantly: ready to recieve passes.
The next game is a home game vs Hertha in 2 weeks. I hope Bommer will take the risk and begin with 2 forwards. It will definately be tough to choose the midfield because Tararache will be back. My choice:
--------------Starke---------------
Lamey--Filipescu--Schlicke--Caceres
------------Tararache-------------
Grlic----------------------Georgiev
--------------Maicon---------------
--------Ishiaku----Lavric-----------

I don't know why, but from what I have seen, I am not a big fan of Tararache. Hopefully Bommer is finding the right line up to produce a better line up.

Wow! How little the Zebras have gone since the begining of the season. It was looking good for awhile, but now I just wish we could play BVB every week!

Your team has looked increcibly weak, already at this point I find it very hard to see you guys avoiding relegation. So far, you've played even weaker than Cottbus imho.

I bet that their boss Hellmich is going to fire manager Rudi Bommer in the case of a defeat against Nürnberg...

Win over Nürnberg and sensational draw in Munich ... but the MSV fans in this thread obviously didn't have noticed that yet.:p;)
Kudos to your guys!
