Hello US soccer fans, I am trying to get an idea how many people travel to see the US MNT games nationally or abroad. Is there a club or group that travels to see US MNT matches abroad/nationally? Is there anyone that puts that together? If not, would you like to help me put one together. Before I do, how many of you would be interested in traveling/going?

Thanks!

It is easy. You already know how to start a thread, and just click on the US SOCCER link to talk about them, and Major Leauge Soccer to talk about the leauge and that suits the Galaxy too

MODS, this user should be banned. Perhaps I'm wrong, but are these boards really allowed for advertising?

But he hasn't even posted a link to his site! I don't think he's broken any rules.

Actually, with the disappearance of Soccer Travel, we really are missing a travel agency that will put together trips to those hard to reach places: Mexico City, San Jose, ect....

I'm planning on returning to Azteca -- whenever that next match is -- but would love a tour provider who can make hotel arrangements, arrange busing, deal with security, and get tickets. Sure, I could do it cheaper on my own, but I'm willing to pay a little extra to feel secure.

Who will fill this role now that Soccer Travel is gone? Certainly, not oleole.com! Now, those are crazy expensive ticket packages!

In response to those worried about sales or marketing, I don't want to break any rules. I do see others promoting their personal sites that are selling goods or services, I don't understand what the differece is. I merely want to help people go see US MNT games. Why would you be offended by that. Besides their is marketing and sales going on all around you while you are complaining about sales and marketing. I will just privately contact those that are interested. This is a travel thread by the way. What other things should we be sharing other than where we have been and how to get there. Would you be upset if someone save you a bunch of money on seeing a game in Europe or even elsewhere in the states?

Oh an BTW the OleOle.com site does not offer air travel. Those interested can contact me through my mail box at this site.

Hey all just some more travel info. OleOle.com does have ticket packages not airfair. I am trying to arrange that with them and any other vendor for a complete soccer travel package. With that out of the way...

Where has everbody been to see a game and how did you like it. I lived in Germany for three years and followed KSC which I believe now is a second division Bundesliga team. I do love German soccer but of course I would love to see a Quali with our beloved US MNT.

I don't get it.

I know a bunch of people had problems with Soccer Travel ticket packages at the World Cup last year.

Does that joke has something to do with that?

No, it is more of an inside joke. Though some people who were in Mexico City may understand.

Yeah, but have you looked at the prices! SoccerTravel was certainly not cheap, but these prices seem crazy expensive!

Does that mean you would go to see a game that OleOle has available? I mean there is no way around the economy sometimes. I don't know of too many sites out there that even carry soccer tickets for US MNT let alone any other US match overseas. Ticketmaster certainly doesn't.

Sure, I might use them -- if it was impossible to get tickets from another source.

But getting tickets for overseas matches -- not counting World Cups -- isn't usually that hard. For example, you can get tickets to the US-Sweeden friendly for $70 at http://www.ticnet.se.

On OleOle.com, that ticket with two nights hotel costs $1,155. It also includes transportation to the game. That's more about $500 a night for the hotel! Must be some hotel. If this was the World Cup, I might be willing to pay that kind of premium. But not for a friendly in 2007.

I chatted with the Ole Ole guys in Maracaibo. Initially, they offered VIP tickets to the US-Arg / Col-Par doubleheader for $500. Those tickets were advertised to include 3 hours of pre-match hospitality. My friends and I bought VIP tickets direct from the official promoter of Copa America (delujo promociones) via the internet for $90 a piece. The Ole Ole guys were set up in the lobby of our hotel so I approached them to see if the VIP tix we had would entitle us to the same 3 hours of pre-match hospitatlity.

To my surprise, they said yes - and of course yes. However, due to some bollocksing that they blamed on the Copa America organizers, there would not be any pre-match hospitality except before the Final. Now, I wasn't particularly plussed about this as I could care less for the 3 hours of pre-match hospitality - especially since I knew there would be no beer there - but these guys didn't seem to react as if they were gonna be in a shit storm with people who bought tickets from them.

From my experience talking with them, Ole Ole is a complete ripoff and are less than glorified touts. Getting in to a match anywhere is usually possible for at most 3 times face value, unless Brazil, England or Mexico are playing. If any of those three teams are in, the touts are gonna have a payday.

Well guys, thanks for the great info. I checked ussoccer.com and found the tickets for the Swedish freindly through the same Swedish site you mentioned. I wasn't sure of the exchange rate but they seemed very expensive to me. But I guess if the exchange rate equaled $90 that is great.
I agree with you that I would not spend that much money on a friendly. I will however consider the qual matches in 08 depending on my finances. Again guys good stuff.

A quick question. If you could book your air, soccer tickets, and room in one site would you use that site? Even if you had to book them separately in the same site? Let me know.
