Am I missing something here? Did CBC really drop 20 minutes of an U-20 match to show an hour's newscast on elephants? They created a lot of unhappy people when they cut into a TFC game a while back, but this is like taking a chunk out of the olympics. Worse, this is supposed to be the time that we show the world we can host an international soccer tournament.
Why doesn't CBC give it the respect it deserves!?!?!

I also give them credit for eventually showing the Brazil-Spain game but they must do better. This is the world's game and they want to show animals, wildlife, & elephants? WTF

That's exactly what it is. If it wasn't for the US-Uruguay game going into overtime we would have seen the whole game. But the stingy news dept. has to have its way. Sigh.

soccer day in canada was a waste of time, too much time spent on grassroots BS, who cares about grassroots, by the time these kids are 14 they quit soccer and move onto xbox, cellphones, junk food and unhealthy lifestyles. Why didnt they do a report on the politics in the csa and why the csa neglects young talent hargraves and deguzman, why didnt they expose the csa for the frauds that they are?

I also agree that it was stupid to cut away from the U20 to show elephants. Rather than complaining here where everyone agrees with you, do what I did and let the CBC know how you feel. You can do that here:

Absolutly. It's about time some enterprising sports journalist - if we have any - does an expose on the pathetic, self-serving politicians that run the CSA.

To be clear, they didn't cut away from the match. CBC went to the scheduled newscast after the first game. That program ran past the start time of the later game. They joined that match in progress.
The real problem is that CBC producers/management/schedulers did not adequately take into account the potential for extra time for these knock-out rounds.
Hopefully they can make sure that this doesn't happen again!

What pisses me off is that...country canada doesn't show the score or the freaking time and even don't show the injury time....

I love the web streaming. Tonight, I had the Argos on TSN and two U-20 matches on my computer. Fandamntastic!

You know what's hilarious...that Elephant show was an old broadcast. They may have updated it slightly, but I had seen it before.

It is, but the score and the time should always be available to be viewed.
