View Full Version : Question concerning Escude....

Well, although I'm excited from what I've heard about him (and his apparant enthusiam about making a move to Old Trafford), I can't honestly say I've seen the kid play....has anyone else? I'd be interested in any thoughts on him....

Would he be more of a replacement for Silvestre on the left wing or kind of utility-man in the back (albeit a left sided one...)?

Although I had personally disliked Silvestre for awhile (I found him to be way too error-prone at times....) I think he has made some very good progress in the last year or so. Yes, he does make big mistakes every once in awhile, but I think those can eventually be remedied, and he does prove valuable on the attack very often.

While I do think we need more help in the back (aside from the addition of Rio) I hope it doesn't come at the expense of Silvestre's progress......

This is all I've really read about him:

Escude, 22, has been a regular in their (Rennes) first team. He can play at left-back or centre-half and has represented France at Under-21 level.

Yeah, from what I've heard and the limited film reels i've seen on him, he seems like a Bixente Lizarazu type player (but much taller), lots of speed and hard on the ball, a threat going forward...Silvestre pt2

well, thanks for the insight at least...He seems like an intriguing player, and definitly has promise. I guess I'm not the only one kind of in the dark about him....We'll see what he can do, hopefully....
