Does anyone know why Man U. isn't scheduled to play any MLS teams during their USA tour? I apologize if this topic has been discussed before on these boards but I find the omission quite puzzling.
I'm sure American fans of Celtic and Juventus are very excited to see their favorite sides, but I would prefer that my home team would get the honor of playing United.

I would have liked to see ManU play at least one MLS team but I guess they think they are "above that" or something. Blackburn Rovers are playing DC United in late July in DC and Spurs played DC United a few months ago as well so not all EPL teams refuse to play MLS sides. However, I am very happy to be able to see Manchester United play Juventus in Jersey, it should be a good match.

This has more to do with Champions World, who are sponsoring the United Tour, than United themselves.

Staggeringly arrogant though Man Utd are, I doubt that they considered themselves 'above' playing an MLS side. I'm sure the organisers of the tour are responsible for the games that are played and commercially I guess they thought that major European sides would be a safer bet. Since United are happy to play against any number of two-bob crappy Asian teams whenever they embark on one of their regular money-spinning tours of the Far East, I am sure that they wouldn't feel it was beneath them to play an MLS team.

instead of complaining about champions world
what did mls do for the all star game????
instead of brining a liverpool, real, barca,or bayern to play your beloved mls players they bring in chivas
lmao.........
chivas---you guys know you wanted to see a euro power versus mls stars ---now that would generate interest

I'm very surprised to read an arrogant reply from an Arsenal fan. Considering United is about to sign the Metrostars keeper, many of his fans would like the opportunity to watch him play.

Any one know when Man U will be arriving in Seattle? I also heard they are going to Portland before coming to Seattle. Have they released their itinerary?

My guess is that this tour is in response to soccer's popularity in America blossoming, and I don't think this tour is entirely meant to target those of us who already know a great deal about the sport. I think that clubs and organizations all over the world have much to gain from the U.$.A. if we begin to be competitive internationally. I think that if these teams show America what they might hope to aspire to, the skills and excitment that can come with great soccer teams, then Americans will be more inclined to further soccer's future in the states. It's like a massive campaign trip (Vote Soccer!), and I don't think that arrogance has anything to do with it. If they played MLS teams, the games would be lack-luster, and, since everyone here would root for the losing mls side, the europeans would leave behind only resentment.

I agree with the person who mentioned Champions World. Champions World organizes these matches. YOu should check out there website. They have some very exciting matches happening in the United States this summer. Manchester United v. Juventus or Barcelona will attract more then a match against DC United or the Metrostars.

There should be a lot of walk up sales with a lot of Club America fans in L.A. -- but this is pathetic. Coliseum seats 90K!!!

Wait, the Man UTD vs America match is not in Home Depot Center?! WTF! Is there an LA Galaxy match on the same day?
