View Full Version : NOTE! Gold Cup: US vs. Martinique Live on Galavision
according to soccertv.com, neither the El Salvador nor Martinique games will be broadcast by Univision or Galavision. I can understand Martinique but the ES game should draw viewers.

I can vomit! Everything on TV it's Mexico's liguilla and temporada games. I know there's a lot of Mexicans in the US but not all of us are interested in futbol Mexicano. I rather see International and I live here, eat here, ************ here so therefore I like what we have here. What's the use of following a team that I will never be able to see a game in person? If I go to MX trust me it won't be for a partido de futbol, I will go for the vacation on the beach. I think we should send several messages to Univision, to stop the ************************, we want to see futbol intrnacional and the whole Gold Cup.

maybe the rating is bad when they broadcast US game, you know most American don't get into soccer.....we have small soccer community compares with MLB, NFL, NBA comunnities.

Why would Univision, Telfutura and Galavsion really even want to show USMNT games? I was suprized that they even showed our games from the Confed Cup.
If you look at thier audience (mostly spanish speaking Mexicans/South Americans), I'm quite sure they are much more interested in Mexican/South American football than first round gold cup matches.
If any of the Spanish language channels show a USMNT game, I consider it a bonus.

if they don't show US soccer than they have to leave this country and back to Mexico and broadcast any spanish soccer they like...

Is that some new FCC ruling?
BTW- The only reason why they showed USMNT confed cup games, is because they knew we would lose ;)

Please don't even go there. I am fed up witht the go backto wherever line! The melting pot it's over buddy. Different topic. Anyway, I think we can accomplish something if we let them know that there are hispanics and gringos that are willing to watch their network if we can get international futbol. Besides, it all started with El Salvador not being televized and according to statistics this is how it goes;
Hispanics in the USA
1. Mexicans
2. Guatemalans
3. Salvadorians
4.Cubans
and on and on... by the way I like your nick name, from Las Vegas by any chance?

If you read this thread carefully Oliver the same guy that runs soccertv said Galavision/Univision might pick up the US-Martinique game. Now its a mystery to me why they would want to pick up that game but not the El Salvador game but their is a chance we might get to see one or both.
I've never taken what Oliver says as the gospel until I here it confirmed from the station he is talking about.
He is the one that said FSW would become the NASCAR Channel a couple years ago...
Not saying he isn't right, I'm just saying he isn't always accurate.

I never said that the US games will not be on the Univision networks.
I said that the US games will not be available LIVE on the Univision networks.
I also said that tape-delayed broadcasts cannot be announced until AFTER each match is over.
I also said that the tape-delayed broadcasts will not be on the ESPNs or the FOXes.
You draw your own conclusions as to which channel will have the tape-delayed broadcasts. It isn't that difficult to figure this out.

Telemundo has a deal to broadcast certain - normally the ones on ESPN/espn2 - USNT games.

Damn The F.C.C. chairman, Michael Powell!!!
With the way cleared for media conglomeration, all soccer broadcast will be squeezed out of the American market!!!
It's a C-O-N-Spiracy ;)

Cool, I didn't know that.
However, even when ESPN/ESPN2 shows a USMNT game, I consider it a bonus. ;)

As expected, Galavision has made a switch.
Galavision will have US vs Martinique LIVE on
Monday July 14 at 8:45pm ET/5:45pm PT.
US-El Salvador will air live via closed-circuit TV only. Delayed broadcast date/time/channel cannot be announced until after the match is over.

Yeah, but we still can kick Mexico's butt anytime so where does that put them?

Well that is very good news for the Martinique match, but they should make it so that there will be some way we can watch the El Salvador match live.

The Gold Cup will never cease to find a way to piss me off. They play the fricking tournament in our country, and the only way you can see US-El Salvador live is if you go to the game or have just a sweet TV hookup. I doubt any bar around here will pick up this "closed-circuit feed".

What does this mean? Will Galavision or Telemundo or FSW pick up the tape delay? How has this worked in the past?
