I find Common's albums incredible, he has ridiculously good lyrics and is one of the top in terms of flow. They've all been musically brilliant. I always say that the intro tracks on albums like "Be" and "Finding Forever" have more music in them than most entire albums by other artists. Kanye held it up pretty well on FF, but "Be" is just a classic.

By Dre I mean Dr. Dre. But Andre 3000 used to be good. I suppose I could've added him to the "fallen off" group. Aquemeni and ATLiens are sick.

Pac put emotion into songs, no doubt. But I'm 100 percent with Barthez on this. Common is lyrically brilliant, same with Nas. Biggie is probably the top, and I don't rate Jay-Z \

Also, everytime a Southern rapper opens his mouth, hip hop dies a little more. Just my opinion.

But...but... Weezy F Baby can't feel his face!!!

Another of my favorite lyricists to go along with Nas and Common is Pharoahe Monch. I highly suggest him to every person in the world. Some of his lyrics are ridiculously good, and his flow is intense, especially for someone with chronic asthma.

"Your technique is magnificent... when cut across the neck a sound like wailing winter winds is heard, they say... I´d always hoped to cut someone like that some day... to hear that sound... but to have it happen to my own neck... is ridiculous..."

Dr. Dre is an average rapper at best...and I find chronic 2001 to be better than the first. And regarding COMMON, I find BE to be a better album than Finding Forever.

And personally..NO1 should rate jayz before BIG..due to the fact that jay is always using BIGGIE'S lines...I mean jay was even using NAS's shit when they were beefing, dude is a clown.

To find that good shit you have to dig underground a little bit...Though p.monch isn't really underground lol...he is still nice I think.

Yeah, if you want real hip-hop radio has been dead for awhile. I get so angry when I turn it on and hear songs like "Party with a Rockstar" or "Lean with it" and all this pure unadulterated GARBAGE. That's all it is.

You gotta get mixtapes, underground sh*t, etc. I don't really associate with the culture of hip-hop at all - i.e. the look, slang, etc. But I definitely love the music, especially when it's thoughtful.

Dre - I give him mad props for basically making the West, even if I don't generally like the music they're putting out over there compared to the East.

The reason I like Jay-Z is because of:
a) his freestyling
b) his swagger; he could make a punchline "I am a good rapper" and find a way for it to be fire; in terms of confidence he's up there at the shoes of Lord Finesse

I've been preaching that for so long. The sad thing is that its only gonna get worse.

Worse than those two songs: "This Is Why I'm Hot"

Dr. Dre made the west?!

You've got to be kidding me.

He may have played a part, but him making the west doesn't float. You'd be ignoring the legend/now movie star that is Ice Cube, who wrote all of the shit that they were saying. Dre, at best, was a killer beat writer. At most, he was someone's Robin pretending to be Batman.

Dre- "I never met an O.G. who never did shit wrong....how quick he went from wearing lipstick to smoking chronic at picnics."-Eazy E

Instrumental in giving us an identity? Absolutely.

Rap did exist on the West coast before the Chronic.

Also, how can we bring up WC rap without including the legendary, Mellow Man Ace?
