What a ridiculous public fellation. You would think Twellman hadn't just come back from a month of international play when he couldn't hit a bull's ass with a banjo.

"Q: When the Clippers move into Huntington Park, Crew Stadium will become the oldest nonrenovated major sports facility in the city. As much as you can say you want to work in harmony with other sports franchises, you do recognize there is competition for entertainment dollars?

A: We do take that into consideration. A (permanent concert) stage is on the drawing board. A roof is not an immediate priority, but we'd like to have LED (lighting) in the building and a true club area in the building. There are significant projects that, with a few things coming into place, we will pull the trigger on. But we have to ask ourselves if we are going to keep investing in this building if the fan experience is a rut-filled, up-to-my-ankles-in-mud type of experience. We can't overcome that no matter what we do."

from the columbus dispatch article. bet crew fans aren't going to like the idea of a stage... (i don't, for that matter!)

"Do I think that Coach, after the World Cup, was probably thinking he could have used me? Yeah, for sure."

maybe as a waterboy because if any of his other international play is an indicator, he would have been eaten alive at the WC.

Anyone would have been better than Eddie Johnson, even your bum of a player, Chris Rolfe.

I would like to take this time to point out that our friend Tim Dahlberg has something to say.

Look, I'm no Beckham lackey, but I AM conscious of the importance of his arival, and respect the trickle down he WILL have on the rest of the league.

After reading this, if you are as inclined to mail him a box full of rabid weasels and pit vipers, or ... just email him and share with him YOUR thoughts on the progress of our leage, that has, despite the support of the Jim ERRRRR R____'s of the world has done just fine, thank you. We wont need to include him in our league festivities in the future.
Bile-weaping and roidal a**holes like this can go suck the corporate NFL/MLB teat!

"Tim Dahlberg is a national sports columnist for The Associated Press. Write to him at tdahlberg@ap.org"

oh yea, i forgot that if you put down a Revs player, their fans will get all up in arms. Johnson at least has the potential of doing something. if anyone else comes along, he and Ching will be the first to go. until then, Twellman is odd-man out.

i don't really care to turn this into a Fire-Revs pissing match.

Oh, please. Johnson had one of our few semi-dangerous shots at the WC, and easily outplayed Mr. Chicken-with-his-head-cut-off over the past month. And I'd take Rolfe over Twellman's sorry ass anyday, at least he knows how to create his own shot.

Revfans rule.

I didn't know that AP had columnists.

I didn't know that columns counted as news.

...

As for the new Fire coach, I expected him to claim at least a little familiarity with the MLS system after being with the MetroBulls for two years, but each paper presents him as a newcomer to the system. I'm worried for Chicago. How many MLS coaches have excelled as newcomers to the system?

Everyone was new at that time.

Really?

[cough]

Seriously though... I think Osorio was referring to the players, and the style of play...both of which have changed since he left.
I don't think anyone is really familiar with the league system itself. ;)

I thought you were referring to his time with DC back when the league began. If you're talking about his current run with the Bulls, then you could say Arena was in the same position. The only difference is that Arena has been a head coach in MLS before; Osorio hasn't.
