Fabio Grosso, why did you accept the offer of the Olympic Lyonese?
Because it is one of the largest clubs in Europe. It is difficult to be unaware of this club today. It has an enormous potential. At its head, there is a large president. Lyon gained six consecutive titles. It seeks with always achieving broad goals.

Which reasons pushed you to leave it Inter Milan?
The Lyons offer. When one receives an offer as important as that of the OL, one studies it seriously. And then, I have the insurance to continue to dispute the League of the Champions. This club is very ambitious. I know that it will be very difficult to preserve this level because the adversaries will be very justified with the idea to make fall the sextuple champion but I hope to obtain great satisfactions. This club the merit.

Which assessment do you draw from your passage to Inter?
It is very positive. We gained the title after which the club would run since many years. We also gained Supercoupe of Italy. The assessment is more than positive.

Did you take councils near your former fellow-members with Inter, Patrick Vieira and Olivier Dacourt?
They are two large players and two friends. I invited them to announce my decision to them. They were content for me and spoke to me about Lyon. Their opinion did nothing but confirm what I thought.

What do you know League 1?
It is an important championship at the international level. I always followed the French foot like all the others besides. There are large teams and very good players in France. But I know that I came in the most important club.

Do you fear the reception of the French public?
Absolutely not. I made my duty with Italy. I gave the maximum for my nation as I always did during my career. I will give the maximum for Lyon. I hope that there will be no animosity on behalf of the French public. If it is the case, I will do all so that that occurs well.

As a champion of the world, do you feel waiting around you?
I do not have any pressure. If much me am awaited, it is of good forecasts. I begin one year important. I hope that I will live interesting things. What counts, be the results of the team.

What can carry out the OL in League of the Champions?
The objective is always of going possible further. Sometimes, the adventure stops front but one must be ambitious. A club as the OL must unceasingly aim at highest.
I think I like him already! I can't help but feel like a horny 13-year old school girl. :)

groan ;)

Lets hope he can return to the form that charmed the "pants off" so many during the world cup. Then I can pleasantly say 'Abidal who?'

I'm being honest. :) Why wouldn't I want an Italian NT player doing well? As a result, of course the team he is on will benefit, so I hope they'll also do well. I wouldn't mind seeing Lyon win a CL with Grosso's help, as long as it's against an English team. ;)

Wait, wouldn't a Napoli supporter want the other Italian clubs to do poorly in the Champions League and other European competition? I thought the majority of Italian clubs hated each other.

Anyway, more on topic, I think Grosso is a very good signing. He will likely not be as good as Abidal will be in a couple of years, though he'll do quite well now.

I CANT SPEAK FOR ALL ITALIAN FANS, BUT I KNOW I ALWAYS WANTED ITALIAN CLUBS TO DO WELL IN EURO COMPETITIONS...ESPECIALLY IF THE MAJORITY OF THE PLAYERS WERE ITALIAN. I WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE MILAN WINNING THE WHOLE THING, AND ROMA BEATING YOU GUYS...(NO OFFENSE...BUT THAT MOVE MANCINI PULLED ON YOUR DEFENDER.....WOWEY!!!). BUT THIS SEASON, SINCE NAPOLI HAVE MADE IT TO SERIE A, I WISH NOTHING BUT BAD LUCK TO THEM ALL. THEREFORE, I MAY BE A LYON, OR REAL MADRID (IF CANNAVARO STAYS) SUPPORTER FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. AND IN THE UEFA CUP? FORZA BAYERN MUNICH (LUCA TONI)!!! IM SURE MOST NAPOLI FANS FEEL THE SAME WAY.

It depends. For me, anyone but Juve. :D We(Napoli) don't really have too much distaste for Inter or Milan. We don't like Roma so much either, but it would be nice to see them win it because they're not one of the "big 3" and it would be good for the whole competition, just like Lyon winning it.
A CL victory for an Italian team benefits Serie A as a whole if you think about it, the attention and ratings that will be given to Milan next season will spread to their opponents as well, plus other micro-economic factors.
